Shape Preset to a Dial in Morph .......

Is it possible to take a saved shape and turn it into a morph dial?? So that it can be added in small amounts  to other characters ......

  • Apply your saved preset

Right-click on the Parameters pane and from the menu put it in Edit mode

Right-click in the group you want to contain the new controller and select Create New Property

Most of the options should be OK, you may want to adjust limits and the path, you will certainly want to give it a name and label.

Right-click on your new property and select ERC Freeze - this should have the new property listed as the controller and the morphs used in your preset listed as the controlled properties. Assuming it looks OK click Accept.

If the controller works as desired zero it and File>Save as>Support Assets>Morph Asset.

Thank you Richard ,so here's another question if I save the shape as a morph dial like that ,will this mean that things like hair will follow it now, when it doesn't as a shape preset .......did that make sense??

  • No, all this is doing is creating a master controller that turns on the original shapes - the work is still being done by the original shapes, so if they don't AutoFollow that will be unchanged. Check the parameter settings (the gear icon on the slider) for any problem shapes to see if AutoFollow is unchecked - though there may be a good reason for it to be like that if it is.

Well the morphs I'm useing to create the preset I saved are Capseses ,Faerime for Akio4 that I transfered to Genesis with GenX2,and other odds and ends ,would there be away to make it auto follow,???

  • Yes, just find the slider for the moprh, click the gear icon, click Parameter Settings, check the AutoFollow box (if it isn't checked), click Accept.

You can then save the result by File>Save as>Support Assets>Save Modified Assets but that's a little risky - it's easy to override a default value and end up with one or more morphs loading already on, and with standard morphs any updates will replace your fixes (not an issue with your own conversions). You can also simply save the figure as a Scene subset and use that in place of the base.
