I agree with the work quality is excellent. I just want to know the reasoning behind including 'New World' vegtables and fruits that would not be introduced to Europe until the invasion of the New World in the 15th C started and their produce was brought back to Europe.

Is it possible to create another package that provides a more European selection of vegtables that would be around up to the 14th C in Northern Europe or the occasional exotic Southern European produce or Middle Eastern or African?

    +1!

The set looks great. There's just one thing that bothers me: once again there are potatoes at a medieval market...!

The Middle Ages roughly cover the period between the 6th and 15th centuries. The potato was not brought to Europe until the 16th century, and about 150 years passed before people here even realised how to use it. So potatoes on a medieval market are unrealistic.

Just because it is a medieval market doesnt mean it can be used just for that.....this would be very useful for a number of fantasy shots, or even some contemporary marketplaces from around the world. So the variety of produce is fine..........it makes the set even more usable.

not by any means the only Renaissance Marketplace out there mislabeled wink filmmakers. illustrators etc also overlook the impact the invasion of the Americas had on the European cuisine

the tomato even more so than the spud

it looks like a great Renaissance marketplace BTW

They look great! I especially like the one with hanging cauldron–I've been looking for something for some time.

It may be nitpicking, or pointing out what others did including me, about other packages that food not available in Medieval Europe were being included. And I also pointed out at the time I believe that it could be used in a fantasy or alien scenes.

That said, I still bought the bundle today. It is made quite well.

I can find some veggies that others have created. And if anyone would like a source for the future, here is one.

Until the appearence of metal tubing and plastic sheets, I doubt the look of a typical market stall, a fruit and veg stall in particular, would have altered that much over the years.

As such this could be used for anything 15th-19th century as well, and then potatoes certainly would have been available.

Doesn't help people who render earlier timeperiods a bit though.

As the same complain comes up every time these type of stalls get published - and we got quite a few already - why do each new one has the same "american fruits and vegetables" problem? And why don't the PAs come up with some small expansion having nothing but some appropriate fruits or vegetables in them?

As it is, the motivation for me to buy more than one of these products is rather low.
