Hi everybody,
On this one I need your idvises and infos...
I don't have the budget now for a RTX 4090 ti, but I need to replace urgently my GC....Do you think that going for a RTX 3060 ti would be a good " in between " choice while waiting for the 4090 ?
Would it be OK / enough for renderings on DAZ ?
In advance, thank you for your help on this !
Cheers !

Nope. It has only 8GB's of VRAM, which is not enough for the relatively recently released assets, the newest versions of DS and W10/11.
The RTX 3060 12GB is much better choice and it's even cheaper.
Yep, DRAM is the thing to watch for.. a 3060 w/ 12GB would be nice if you can find one. Also, as others have mentioned in these forums, you need system RAM as well. For example, my card has 10GB DDR and I've pushed 22.5GB of system RAM while rendering with no other apps running...
oh I have 128gbite of Ram : I changed my MB, proc ( i9 11th gen ) and ram very recently ( I move from 32 to 128 )...This is why I'm a bit out of budget for the moment otherwise I would take a 4090 now....but this will have to wait.
So ok, I will check for a 3060 with 12 GB ram !
Thanks for the infos guys !
Rtx3080 TI w/12 gb vram may be an option as well. Depends on funds and card availability.
as much vram as you can afford basically.
What did you have before that died? You can compare GPUs in the benchmark thread we have. But you can't really go wrong with a 3060 that has 12gb of VRAM. That has been a solid budget card for a lot of people and it is a decent card. It is nearly as fast as a 2080ti rendering Iray. For gaming it is not nearly as powerful. Obviously higher 3000 series cards will be faster, but the next few tiers above the 3060 only have 8gb. You have to go all the way up to a 3080 12gb to match the VRAM, and that means a lot more money.
Now I don't know what you are used to. Maybe 8gb is fine for you, but I think most people would find that to be a bit restrictive today. Even gamers are pushing back against 8gb GPUs.
I don't know how urgent your situation is, but the 4060ti with 16gb is coming in July. That might be too long for you to wait, and it will cost more than a 3060ti you mentioned.
