Transparency on skin and mouth

So I've noticed some new renders where the shadowed part of the body and the mouth has some transparency. It's fixable in post, but it's a little annoying and I'm not sure what's causing it. Cutout opacity is 100. Specral rendering is enabled. I did install a new PBR skin shader and tweaked the settings. It's a G8F model. I'm not experienced working with skin so I might have turned the wrong dial, but I can't find an obvious fix and it's too subtle to notice in iray preview mode. I've attached an image of what I'm talking about. Does anyone know where it might have gone wrong? I also stopped the render early because I noticed it. Is this something where running the convergence higher would fix?

I could not see such a 'transparency' from you pic attached... I would say it might lack some Glossiness (a bit matte or high diffuse roughness  ) , maybe check the related surface params.: e.g. Glossy Roughness, Dual Lobe, Translucency and SSS relevant settings. BTW, not suggest use Spectral Rendering for such a portrait of human being.. IMO  High convergence ratio won't help with this case...

  • Thanks! I'll try to test it without spectral rendering and also look at those surfaces. I'm having trouble posting another picture. Basically, if it's opened in a program that doesn't revert a png's alpha to a solid background, you can see the checkerboard pattern of semi-transparent pixels all around the skin and mouth, but nowhere else.
