Hello guys!

I want to make an avatar that reflect myself.

I want to make my avatar to use my clothes and do some animations sometimes, like the avatar like Aria Phenix.

Which genesis version should I use?

Should I get add-on/assets to make realistic avatar? If yes, some advice?

All tips would be nice. Thaaanks ♥

Where is the avatar to be used? For clothing and appearance you can either use what is avaialble in the store or through freebies or you can, in principle, create your own - but without more details about how the result should look it is hard to give advice.

Since all the Genesis editions are free with the program, I would suggest loading them into a scene, one at a time, and see which one you prefer.

Then focus on that figure to make any additional purchases if seeking then a particular character [n.b. these are usually morphs and skins only, no clothing or hair unless otherwise stated]. There are also morph collections that can be purchased for the figures so one can dial in their preferences to whichever percentage they want -- in effect making one's own character. [save out as a shaping preset then].

    Keep an eye on the sales, like the grab bag atm which has some lovely characters in it, as well as some pose sets -- for the Genesis 3 figures. {remember to apply the coupon to get the sale price}

Whether you choose to go for a realistic or toon-type character is totally up to you. Even with realistic props, they can be rendered with toon rendering options so everything can go together in a scene.

If you see an outfit that is similar to clothing you want on the figure, esp. if it's on sale, you can purchase that. Take a photograph of your own clothing to get a fabric swatch ... then use that in an image editor along with the clothing's template {often found in the Product Library as a separate download - or - one can use another program or take a screen shot of the uvview in D/S [just keep the images square] and somehow apply your fabric image to the template [go over the seams at least a couple of pixels so that the seams won't show when rendered in D/S].

You will see in the forums people talking about converting clothing and poses, and while all this is possible, it is a lot easier to start off with using stuff that was made for the figure one wants to use.

    And have fun! :-)

OMG Thank you so much for all tips!

I had a lot of doubts about the genesis version because I see we have low quantity of morphs assets to Genesis 9.

My intention is to make myself an avatar to use in photos of places I go and for posing with clothes I make hahaha

    My inspiration is https://www.instagram.com/aria.phenix/

And I want it to me hahahaha

Because is something that I thought a lot but I didn't know how start but I discovered Daz3D and I want to try make it real ♥

If you have a decent size photo of your face, hair off the face, no glasses on, no smile, you can use the Face Transfer inside Daz Studio to put your face on the model too. The texture will need some additional work but it's a fun thing to try if you want to. Face Transfer only works on Windows 64bit computers.

Are you looking to make and use the model (avatar) in Daz Studio to make images or animations or what do you want to do with it?

    You're welcome.

By the by, you can use the rendered images, still or animations, generally speaking, as you please {there are a couple of exceptions for a very few products and would be noted on the product pages}.

However the actual models themselves have to stay on your computer, we do not redistribute those over to other websites etc.

I want to use Daz just to make the avatar and poses

Hmmm, I understood. In Daz I want to create just the avatar without this limitation. That avatar I said the IG like example was made in Daz.

You would need to buy an interactive license for each product that you used to create your  avatar  in addtion to the  products themselves.

If you Pick Genesis 8 pro bundle  go to that page and also buy the interactive license.

There are very specific rules for distribution of the actual 3D mesh.  It is illegal if you do not follow the correct steps.

And to make the actual avatar you need to do it manually or try to use one of the automatic plugins that may or may not work well enough.

I already read about license but I need to learn about the avatar development yet hahahaha

Wow! Thanks for the tips, I thought I must have plug-ins and assets to do my avatar, I know it will make everything easier but I'll check your links to try learning about the manual development. Thaaaank yoou!

That depends on how you are going to use the avatar - if you do renders, or videos, and post those then all you need is the standard license - if the 3D data is going to be sent to other users' systems forr endering then you will need an interactive license.
