Ways to improve End of Summer Hair for G2F Renders

This hair asset has been around for a long time and is one of the more popular styles so I am hoping there are some ways to improve my renders using the End of Summer hair. Looking at my image, you can see problems with gloss and sparkles in parts of the hair. Also, there are problems along the hairline. And lastly, my render just does not look as natural as the promo images.
For those who have had success with this item, what tips can you share to help improve the rendered image?
Any chance you are aware of an updated version (for G8/9/D-Force) or similar style available?
I appreciate your assistance!

I assume you're using the hair autofitted to a newer figure and rendering with Iray?
This hair was released before Iray was added in DS, so if you're rendering with Iray the materials will not be optimal as they will be automatically converted 3DL ones. You would need to apply the Iray base shader to the hair then tweak the settings (for example changing the "glossiness" or "glossy roughness" to make it less shiny). You could also try applying some generic Iray hair shaders, there are various packs available for example:

Regarding the hairline, there might be adjustment morphs you can use.
Fantastic advice. Thank you for pointing out the Iray/3DL issue and providing those links! Working on that now.
I sincerely appreciate your help!
