Carrara 8.5 no longer opens on Win 11 Pro
I have to assume this issue happens after a reent update to Windows 11 itself. Carrara 8.5 is running perfectly on win 7/10 PC's, and was working fine on 11 just a few weeks ago. Now there's a very quick flash of something on screen, and it never runs. There is nothing in task manager before, during, or after the program is started, so there are no processes to investigate. A reinstall didn't help, nor did a straight copy/paste of the entire program directory from a working install to the one on 11.
Win 11 details:
Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 22H2
Installed on 2/19/2023
OS build 22621.1848
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22642.1000.0
This w11 PC was set to be my permanent replacement for my main PC, so this is a major issue that is keeping that from moving forward.
Any help would be appreciated...

Is Windows 11 in S mode, which blocks applications thata re not coming through the app store? It is on by default in a lot of pre-built systems.

Thanks Richard... no S mode here. It's a standard workstation type desktop.
Device name HP-600-G4-w11
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8500 CPU @ 3.00GHz 3.00 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.8 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch Pen support
And Wendy.... It's like you have super powers! I just bought and installed a Huion pen tablet, and it seems loigical that it is the culprit if there are driver issues. I'll try the posted fix and report back.
Wendy... Thank you! I extracted the file into Carrara's root folder, and it's working again. Too bad there's issue with the tablet driver, but I can live with a compromise for the time being. It's very disappointing to read of the demise of so many things that once held so much promise. Ah well, there are other tools...
Glad to hear Wendy had the answer (as usual, like her answer that let me use DS content in Carrera). But NOOOO?!? Other tools? I dread the thought of having to switch from Carrara, which has become second nature and for which I have several jillion terabytes of content (or close). And why I have several big honkin' PC's running it, one with an AMD 12 core/24 thread CPU. And that seems to be middlin' these days. Runs Carrara great, a few seconds per frame of animation usually.
I'm still on my 386
