Possible to hide G8.1 Male Anatomical Elements for Female?

edited June 2023 in Daz Studio Discussion

When I bought Dain 8 from the DAZ3D Shop, I installed only the Anatomical Elements. One asset in Smart Content is called Genesis 8.1 Male Genitalia for Female. I don't intend to use that asset, and there's no menu option to delete it. Can I at least hide it, so it isn't displayed in Smart Content?

I'm using DAZ Studio 4.21.0.5 for macOS.

Yes, if you right-click on it in the Categories in the Content Library and select Remove Reference..., but i am not sure it won't return if you log in to Daz or reinstall the product. Still, you could try it and see. What should persist is right-click on the file and select Categorise, then uncheck its current entries and check one out of the way (or, by right-clicks in the dialogue, create a new category for it and anything else you wish to get out of your way).

Perhaps slightly more helpful as the content library can become a nightmare to navigate, right click on it in "Smart Content", choose "show asset in/products" and that will take you to the product (Genesis 8 Male Anatomical Elements).  It contains only two items, the attachment for G8M and the attachment for G8F.  You can do "Remove reference..." from there as @richard observed.

In principle it does not last; if the product is updated I'm sure it will reappear, however it is unlikely that this product will be updated with any frequency so doing this is probably a fairly long lasting solution.

A more permanent, though error prone, approach is to build a separate product with the bits you want missing missing; this involves unzipping the download, removing the relevant parts, editting the list of contents (manifest - Content Wizard can help with this) and building your own local version of the product. You de-install the purchased product, install your redux version and then the only problem is that you will see but can't simply install any updates.
