Videogame that feels like you're living in Daz Studio
"Starfield new gameplay shocked fans today at the Xbox Games Showcase with over 40 minutes of new Starfield gameplay shown including character customization, weapon FPS and third person gameplay, ship building, base building, planet exploration and so much more! Starfield release date is September 6, 2023! #starfield "
I saw this video and the construction of the ships and the set felt like Im watching someone playing inside Daz Studio.
And I saw these quotes...
"Starfield is available only on Windows PC and Xbox Series X. It's the third game to be published exclusively to Xbox and PC since Microsoft acquired Bethesda parent Zenimax Media in 2021" and "
Will Starfield be available on Steam?
Starfield is available for pre-purchase now, and Bethesda's space RPG is already the number two bestseller on Steam, beneath only Counter-Strike: Global Offensive."
Even some of the sets look like PC+ Daz Originals.
Comments
It's more like lots of Daz products are kept in the same 80s and 90s grounded scifi style also used by Starfield or No Man's Sky.
It's not a new style. It got more popular since the Expanse show, though.
Looks great, but without VR support, it's pointless for me. I stopped playing non VR games once i discovered VR
I doubt this game will be for me but the environments look great!
I played Mass Effect 2 and I loved the missions when I just explored and then I played the later games in story mode - where the fighting was minimal.
This looks like the spirit of Kitbashing and building your own ship (with full insides!!!).
And also you get a procedurally designed "Thursday daz Original Easy Environment" to explore.
When I saw the parts being put together, it felt like all the modular products being used.
isnt this just generic scifi design language or am i missing something
I do like the jetpack mechanics added to the gameplay. We'll see what the system requirements are once its released, thats when the real reviews dig deeper.
Starfield is on my must-buy list. I absolutely love open world exploration games and have played all Bethesda's releases since Morrowind. Done a fair amount of modding too using their Creation Kit and other tools to create new areas in the game world and new quests.
In another sorta Daz-related aspect, it won't be long after Starfield's release that modders add skimpware to the game. Probably also high heels for those space suits. ;-)
System requirements:
Minimum:
OS: Windows 10 version 22H2 (10.0.19045)
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, Intel Core i7 6800K
Memory: 16GB RAM
Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5700, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Ti
DirectX: Version 12
Network: Broadband internet connection
Storage: 125 GB available space
Additional notes: SSD required
Recommended:
OS: Windows 10/11 with updates
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, Intel i5 10600K
Memory: 16GB RAM
Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080
DirectX: Version 12
Network: Broadband internet connection
Storage: 125 GB available space
Additional notes: SSD required
Fairly steep recommended requirements and one causing the most discussion is SSD requirement. Eats up a lot of space (the final frontier). Most folks here should be OK though.
Skimpware Spacesuit - in space - now that's chilling......
I guess my 1st question would be, can we finally climb a ladder in a Bethesda game
I thought Fallout 4 let you do that... I feel like I used a ladder somewhere to get away from Mirelurks or Deathclaws... I could be wrong, it's been a while.
Stairways, yes, but ladders, only when a mod is used....
Yeah, probably that... I did use a few... made the game a hell of a lot more fun too.
I don't see any high heels on these space suits for Starfield to be like a Daz product. If you are looking for "Daz Studio, the Game" you look no further than House Party, a game that has multiple Daz characters in all their glory, including appearances by Victoria 7 and her friends from the Genesis 3 era. The only thing it is missing is a sword and a dungeon. For real, I thought the title of this thread was about this game, lol.
Screen shot from the official Steam store page.
The game even has a paid DLC pack to get the naughty bits. I told you, it really is like Daz!
Anyway, the style that Starfield is going for leans towards realistic as opposed to pure fantasy for its scifi. I liked Mass Effect and its style a lot, but I think what Starfield is doing is pretty cool.
Done most of their games since daggerfall, all the mass effect games and a good chunk of no man's sky and various elites. After watching the reveal I'm cautiously optimistic.
I kind of rememebr that too, at the drivein, somehow got up to the second floor roof, and I think it was a ladder in the corner. Though it could have been one of those insta teleport triggers, one second your at base of ladder, next player moves instantly to top of ladder.
I think I know what you mean; (steep) ladders are not climbeable in game, but in the drive in building, they used a small stairway to get up to the projection booth and roof. I guess it comes down to the definition of what is a ladder and what are stairs . Compare this with, say, The Wicher 3, were you can climb both stairs and ladders (well, mostly, I'm sure there will be exeptions).
Half-Life had ladders everywhere that you could climb, but that was Source engine by Valve, a completely different game engine than the one Bethesda uses.
This is available on Steam, so there is a good possibility I can play it.
