Fiends Forever Hair Shaders

I would like to create hair shaders like the Fiends Forever hair colors. I have created a huge variety of my own colors, and am now learning how to save the presets. The only thing is, I am having trouble recreating outoftouch's displacement, normal, and specular image maps. sad When I apply the ones I created, the hair doesn't look right. Here are the experimental renders I did with combinations of both mine and outoftouch's maps:

Result of OOT Displacement OOT Specular No Normal

Result of OOT Displacement OOT Specular My Normal

Result of OOT Displacement My Specular My Normal

Result of OOT Displacement My Specular My Normal

Result of Custom Displacement Normal and Specular

Result of Custom Displacement Normal and Specular

Result of Custom Displacement and Specular No Normal

Result of Custom Displacement and Specular No Normal

Result of Custom Displacement OOT Specular No Normal

I don't see much of a difference between the two maps, so I don't see what I'm doing wrong.

Then again, I don't see very well at all. laugh When I am on the computer, I have to use screen magnification to see what I'm doing. If you want to see how I work, open up your computer's built-in magnifier and set the magnification level to 350/400%. It works better on Windows 7 or later; if you're using XP or Vista, the magnifier will appear as a slim bar across the top of your screen. smiley I don't know much about Mac's magnifier.

Here is a mock promotional image for the dark colors: laugh

Each color has five different varieties. There are 48 colors each, except for over 30 Natural colors:

A. Sable (Darker)

B. Dark

C. Bright

D. Pale

E. Fair (Paler)

F. Natural

Here is a comparison of all five hair varieties in red. As you can see, Keiko 6 is my favorite model. laugh She looks pretty awesome with FF hair! I hope I have given you everything you need to know and more about my idea. What do you think of the idea? Do you like the colors? Do you have any ideas how to make something similar to outoftouch's image maps? I created the hair materials using this tutorial: https://oliviamignone.wordpress.com/2009/08/13/creating-seamless-prim-hair-textures-in-photoshop-from-scratch/. I am looking forward to reading all of your opinions! laugh
