Apply shader with original UV

I'm sure I have done this before but can't remember how.

I want to apply a shader to an item of clothing but retain the UV so that things like Normal Maps, etc., still work.Holding CTRL while clicking the shader does bring up a dialogue box but when I select "Ignore" I still get the shape of the UV pattern repeated all over the garment. Maybe something has changed?

    shaders typically dont change uv.

just dont change the tiling when applying shader

Applying a shader doesn't affect the UV. The issue you're experiencing is tiling, which can be done through the Image Editor or Layered Image Editor, I don't remember which one, for an individual map, allowing you to reset the tiling for the surface as a whole.

Yeah, when I tried to adjust the tiling in the surfaces tab it just made things worse.

I'll take a look at the Image Editors.

Applying tiling on the surface affects the entire surface; tiling using the appropriate editor tiles only that map.
