there are quite a few carts and buggies, wagons that have no horse harness. How the horse supposed to pull these? Is there a way to rig them up from another product..
Here is the latest I've found, but there are many others. OR3D Medieval Cart 01 | Daz 3D
If they had a harness I would buy them

there are some in sets you can sort of reuse with the others like the one with https://www.daz3d.com/horse-drawn-carriage-for-daz-horse-2
the LowRez Horse, Millennium horse, DAZ Dog , pig and other creatures have harnesses too

a person could also pull that cart like a rickshaw maybe an Orc
It's a valid question.
Most recent horse-drawn vehicles have come with a harness for a specific horse model--Daz Horse 3, Daz Horse 2, etc. When the vehicle lacks a harness, it's sometimes possible to adapt the harness from another model without too much trouble. Sometimes that isn't possible, and the vehicle model is somewhat impractical. (I'm sure the "make one from primitives" society has the time and interest to make harnesses for their own use, but I have neither the interest nor the time for that.)
I'm not sure if the carts in the OR3D Medieval Cart series are intended to be drawn by horses or humans. Since neither horses nor humans appear in any of the promo renders, it's difficult to say. Carts 1 & 3 seem too narrow or too small for a horse. Cart 2 seems too wide for a man or woman to draw. Anyway, something that probably should've been addressed in a better way prior to release.
creating and rigging the harness would likely be more work than creating the actual cart, so the price would likely be double. Would you still buy it then?
I think the cart in that set is intended to be a hand cart, ie to be pulled along by a human, whom I suspect did not need a harness!
The two handles are too close together for a horse, and there is no where to sit for a driver.
Most medieval peasants were pretty poor and could not afford a horse so they had no real alternative than a hand cart.
The rustic cart also has a relatively simple harness that might work, though I have not tried it.

i like that one a lot. Too $$$$ right now but its in my wishlist.
depends on if I need it that boad or not. It would make sense for somebody to design a harness or a couple as a set for the DAS Horse 2 that would work on multiple carts, or to be editable to fit multiple different carts.
Except that the collar is not used for what it is meant for...
That's what I thought. There needs to be a near horizontal strap from the collar to the back suspension strap.

Richard
The missing traces is what makes it a bit simpler to modify.
Flip that question around. If you have a horse figure that you want to draw a cart or carriage, why would you want to buy a cart or carriage that doesn't harness to a horse? It's rather ironic that one can go over to the "site that shall not be named" and buy more harnesses for the purpose of attaching a cart to a Vicki or Michael than are available for the actual DAZ equines...
Does anyone own any of the vehicles in this series?:

Conspicuously absent from any of the promo renders is a pictorial representation of any of the vehicles harnessed to a horse, mule, ox, triceratops, giant rat, giant termite, or any other critter that might serve as a draft animal. The first two sets claim to include a "harness saddle" (never pictured), a term which makes little or no sense to me.
Anyway, if you have a licensed copy of these, how do you use them? Make your own harness? Adapt a harness from another model? Limit yourself to camera angles which hide the lack of a practical connection between vehicle and draft animal? I might buy the series if the vehicles aren't as limited or impractical as I suspect they may be, but I don't want the nineteenth-century equivalent of a non-running automobile on blocks.
(Generally, I don't fetishize real-world functionality of props & environments. I'm fine with enviros. without openable doors.)

they all have harnesses
...sort of an MFH (morphing fantasy harness)..
Many thanks to WendyLuvsCats for the info about the Vintage Carriage series .
It's difficult to understand why they didn't include any promo renders with horses harnessed to the carriages. Then again, it's not rare to see products illustrated with a series of poorly planned promo renders.
so those harnesses could be used with the medeival stuff?
Actually, given the the majority of a harness is skin tight, a possible solution to the whole harness problem in general might be the creation of a product similar to the old Genesis Super Suit that would fit on most morphed versions of a specific horse figure, consisting of a wide variety of harness straps shapes that could then be hidden or unhidden to create a wide variety of looks. Pair that with a separate set of generic rigging that could smart-prop to the suit and then have the cart-ward ends simply be aligned with whichever cart/carriages hitch points and there'd be a one-size-fits-all alternative.
So true about the promo images, and quite often the things left out are ones that I would think would be major selling points. For example, some of the most recent cars sold at DAZ still don't even have opening doors, while others, like CyberNinja's Cyberpunk Coupe Car and CG Jellyfish's Zirael Flyte Hatchback , take posing functionality down to the point of having adjustible seatbelts in both the front and back and working gloveboxes. It seems crazy not to show that level of detail off in the promo renders, and yet...
to be fair Jack Tomalin added the harnesses later after the products were released as a free update
i remember they did not have them so was surprised that they now do. That explains it.
