Will they ever fix unresponsive Scene tab?

When you click on a node in the Scene tab and it just doesnt register. So you click again, and it doesnt register. Then you click again, and it finally registers and now has parented your node to another node.

Being constantly on edge about clicking into the Scene tab is a frustration we don't need.

For the record, my system specs are below, lest you think im one of Those people (and this has happened on other machines anyway):

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X
  • GPU: RTX 4090
  • RAM: 64GB

If you can get this to happen in a predictable way please report it as a bug (Technical Support ticket) with the steps needed to trigger it. If it can't be reproduced it can't be fixed, though if it is a Qt issue it's possible that DS 5 will resolve it.

    Possibly it's a windows issue?

Use DS crazy amounts. But I disabled my os-system windows memory-cache (win10) because just use my 128mb ram exclusively.   I do have odd pause, but it resolves in less than a second.  So I just wait.  Also load new scene whenever big changes.  Don't know what makes diff or not.

Congrats on your 4090.  Remember your post from not too long ago.   You must be loving the render speed and quick feedback.

As this has been discussed so many times I'd be amazed if it hasn't been reported. Predictable is impossible though but that's obvious.

But yes, it is still happening as is the issue where the response lag causes objects you are trying to select suddenly being parented by something else in the scene tree.
