Drag and Drop Parenting works sometimes, doesn't others

Ok..so sometimes, you can drag an item in the Scenes tab onto another and it highlights into a box and you can drop it and it parrents.

Sometimes, it doesn't highlight.

It's not an object issue..some times the function works, sometimes it doesn't.

 

Anyone know why this is?

The exes instead of check marks in second panel means the item is not selectable, toggle them back to check marks.

Hmmm..I _think_ that's just a coincidence of the screenshots I happened to take (I grabbed them when the right condition was available)...I'm pretty sure I've tried the check/uncheck selectabilty in troubleshooting....but maybe I haven't.. I'll make sure to check that out next time!

There seems to be some other issue as well, I often have to give it a few tries and I haven't figured out if ther's a bug, or you just can't do it really fast, or maybe you have to click on something before dragging or can't click on something else before dragging or what.  Haven't quite narrowed it down.

I have confirmed that it's not based on if they're not selectable..it wasn't working on fully selectable ones..and later it worked fine.

So the same items sometimes work and sometimes don't?

Well, I can't say same items, because if it doesn't work, I use the parenting menu and move on, but I've found when it's not working, it's not working, regardless of what items and what locations in the project...and later on in the session, it may work again...or it may work..then stop working.
