Geometry Shell Problem

I just learned about the geometry shell recently and had a go at using it today. I am making a picture of a Na'vi (from Avatar, below) at night, using the geometry shell with trans maps where the glowing dots should be. Every dot on his skin, I copied over to a trans map, all the same size. Now, the geometry shell shows itself to perfectly follow him (Genesis figure), none of it is hiding in his body. I made sure of this both before and after I applied my trans maps. I can even see the brightened dots in the DAZ work window. However, when I render.... as you can see, not all the dots are glowing. The face is fine, but everything else is not. I have the shell at 0.10 cm away, and even if I up that ridiculously to .20, only a couple more dots show up glowing. But this should not be happening since the geometry shell isn't going into his body, so what gives?
In case it is relevant, I am using DAZ 4.8.0.55 (64 bit).

Woops, well after several hours... I found out the problem!
If you apply a geometry shell to whatever figure, if you're using strong displacement maps, you must also apply these with the same values to the geometry shell!
Well I hope this helps someone else, in the least ^_^"
Wow! That's a great tip! Thanks!
