Saving Decimator Result?

I'm finding the usefulness of the Decimator plugin rather puzzling.

I've just decimated a Genesis 8 female figure and her clothing using the Decimator plugin, and created a LOD.

Now I've tried saving either as a Scene or a Scene Subset, but when I reload it the LOD doesn't appear to be saved, although the .duf file is significantly larger in size.

I'm just curious, but is there a way of saving the decimated figure and her clothing, so that when I reload her, her only resolution is the decimated LOD?

Years ago, customer service told me this: There is a way to save your LODs. It is possible to export an OBJ of the LOD. The next time you want to use that LOD, you have to load the item and then load the LOD with Edit/Geometry/Add Level of Detail.

I don't know if anything has improved since then.

that's really interesting, tnx for that tidbit.

the question that follows is whether a saved scene then includes that LOD addition when using the Edit/Geometry/Add Level of Detail @barbult mentions.

    hmmm,

No, as I recall DS supports LoD but DSON doesn't (currently, at least).
