No mane?

I purchased this and again, today, double-checked the page. It doesnt say it requires any other item. But when I go to load it, the panel shows the male and female version. But when I try to load the male...no mane. I tried all the male figures...no manes. At all. I even did the "render" to see if perhaps the hair was not visible in viewport. Nope. No mane. The colour of the coat changes, but no mane loads. I have looked through, doesnt seem to be a tab to load it either. Is there something wrong? Is there an item that is needed, that is not listed? I know there is a version that requires the "catalyzer" (https://www.daz3d.com/felidae-by-am--lion--dforce-addon)but, on this particular item(as there is two versions with it), I tried to use the LAMH version, no mane.

I use the dForce hair version. dForce hair for the lion is an addon product. I have never used the LAMH version, because LAMH is for 3Delight, not Iray. If you use Iray, use the Catalyzer version (if you have purchased Catalyzer) or buy the dForce hair addion. It is possible to export LAMH hair as OBJ and render it in Iray, but it seldom worked well when I tried it years ago.

I know the "add-on" requires the catalyzer. But this one shows the image of it with no texture and the mame is there.
It doesnt state it requires anything else. which is odd, as if it needs something else, it normally has that right at the top. But this one has the 3dlight version which should have the mane.

The image in the folders, show the mane. In the promos, the mane is there, as it shows the male and female.

    So, I am confused now.

    • Look At My Hair Notes:

      • To get the LAMH Preset Hairs to show up you will need one of the following Plug-Ins for Daz Studio 4.9+:

      • To show the LAMH Tab/Pane go to “Window:Panes(Tabs)” and click on the “Look at My Hair” now you can drag your LAMH tab into your Daz Studio interface setup.

I do have the LAMH player.

Out of curiosity, why on earth is it not at the top like most of the items that require another item to use?
Every "Model" from vicki to steph to every other culture, states at the top "Required" and then the base figure or the item it is to be used with...why not this one?

    See example.
    It states "Required Products:Ellithia 8 "

The snow leopard, clearly states what is "required" for that product...so...what gives?

It is stated in the description that either LAMH or Catalizer are required. Then I agree it would be easier if there was a required list at the top, unfortunately the required list is not always present especially for old items, so we have to read the description carefully when we get a product. Eventually you can always ask for refund.

Then if you ask me, since daz studio is now dforce based, it makes little sense to sell animals with other hair solutions which don't include a dforce hair. The PA is probably trying to compete with his own hair plugin. Unless dforce has bugs or limitations that make its use not convenient.

AM sells a separate dForce hair product for the Lion, which I mentioned above. There are 3 hair options for the Lion. Two of those are good for Iray (Catalyzer and dForce). If you use 3Delight, then you can still use LAMH for the lion fur (including mane). There is a long history behind this. The Lion came out with LAMH hair for 3Delight. When Iray was introduced, AM invented Catalyzer, because LAMH is not very usable with Iray. Then when dForce hair came out, he created dForce hair for the Lion, and some of his other animals. This is a case of a PA responding to new technology with addon products to breathe new life into his older products. This is a good thing. If you haven't been around here long enough to know the history, it is incredibly confusing.

Yes, LAMH has been around since 2012/2013, way before any other similar product

But TBH, LAMH is better than dForce fur/hair...
