Juggling Versions of Daz

I get different results when I use different verions of Daz. Version 4.14 will accuratly fit "torn shirt" to a Gen 8 figure, but it won't use my GPUs to render, just the main CPU. Good 'Ol version 4.10 will use my graphics cards, but the shirt won't fit the figure. Version 4.21 won't even give me an Iray option for rendering. In both versions, the Iray option in the viewport is totally blown out no matter what settings I use. In 4.21 I don't even have an Iray option. Sometimes Daz does make it difficult to love their software.

Which GPU do you have?
I am using a Geforce GTX 980 Ti in an older Mac Pro Tower. Seems strange that Daz 4.21 wouldn't take advantage of this for rendering. One workaround is set up projects in 4.21 then open then up in 4.10 for rendering.
Sadly this is the problem, you have a Mac. Nvidia stopped releasing drivers for Mac a long time ago. I think 4.10 might be the last version with that support. Since you cannot update the driver, you have no way to use the newer version of Iray that comes with 4.21.
There is no good way around this beyond what you are doing. You cannot buy a new GPU for Mac, they have no Mac drivers at all. Thankfully you kept your install of 4.10, or you would be unable to use it at all.
The new versions of Daz Studio have added more Mac support, but that is just for running the software on Mac, and does not include the GPU drivers which Nvidia has to supply. You can run the newer DS on Mac, but you can only render on CPU.
Raising this issue again: Is there a reason why Torn Shirt won't fit to a figure in Daz 4.10 when it does in Daz 4.14 or beyond? If I can make the shirt fit, I can use my GPU and CPU for rendering.
Which torn shirt? Admittedly, I can't think of any obvious reason why a shirt wouldn't fit to a G8 figure in 4.10. But there might be one.
