Figure Metrics Not Working on Female Figures (Measure Metrics)

SalSal Posts: 12

Hello,

When appempting to use the Figure Metrics of Measure Metrics for female figures, the Figure Metrics window/dialog doesn't include the boxes to check off and the measurements are greyed out (cannot be changed).  I've tried this on mulitple female and male figures - it worked fine for all the male figures and did not work for any female figures.

Anyone else having this issue?

  • It is quite possibly a matter of which morphs you have installed. Most of the emasures, for either sex, do not have morphs associated by default.

I am not sure how you are using this. I have had no issues. I use measure metrics from the people\genesis whatever and then look in the measure metrics pane to see the measurements of the character. It give various measurements types (Inches, cm etc.). You can also save the figure measurements. . I then use the Parameters or shaping panes to change the shape or size, confirming the change in the Measure metrics pane. My only issue is no "reset" option, so I have to "undo" and remember the changes or try to locate all the Measure Metrics add ins and delete them. I may not be using this product correctly, but it serves my needs very well. I have not tried it on objects, but I believe it will also measure them.

A suggestion for the mderators/Daz. How about a spell checker in here.

  • There is a spell checker. The ABC with a checkmark in the menu above.

Thanks for the response.  May I ask what you mean by morphs I've installed?  Do you mean body morphs I have applied to the figure?  It's not functioning with any female figures I tried prior to me adding any morphs to it.  Not sure if morphs used to create the figure/asset are a factor, but it doesn't seem to be an issue with any male figure I have tested it on.  It's not working on females including Genesis 3, Genesis 8, Victoria 8 etc. ....

I use Measure Metrics in multiple ways.  The Measure Metrics aspect of the utility seems to be working fine, for example I can manually measure the height of a figure and objects, or I can use it to automatically get measurements of a figure.

Load figure>Utilities>Measure Metrics>Measure Genesis 8 Female - Basic (or other).

However, when attempting to use the Figure Metrics (which allows you to type in desired measurements to auto-apply to the fitgure), that is not working on my female figures, including G3, G8, V8, etc. However, it works fine on the males.

The way I attempt to use the Figure Metrics aspect of the utility, is I use the Measure Metrics first as shown above, so utility creates the 'Low Hip Circumference, Bust Chest Circumference, Waist Circumference, and Head Top Followers' and deteremines the existing measurements for the figure.

Then I use the Figure Metrics by clicking 'Figure Metrics' (the figure option is in the Measure Metrics tab next to the Measure Metrics options).

In the Figure Metrics window/dialog, there should be boxes to check off next to the measurements for the figure.  You should be able to check the boxes off and then type in your desired measurements.

Those boxes were there for all male figures I've tested, but they are not there for any of the females.

    cover the basics.

By morphs installed (that is, available - not necessarily in use) I was thinking of the basic Daz Body morph packs. Figure Metrics does have some morphs for specific measures, but mostly it uses standard morphs from other products - if you have the male body morphs and not the female that might be your issue. You can of course use the Configuration tab to add or change the morph associations.

You should be able tyo find a cleanup script, located:

    ./Scripts/Utilities/Figure Metrics Cleanup.dse (file-system view)
    or
    [/Default]/Utilities/Measure Metrics/Figure Metrics Cleanup.dse (category view)

Thank you Richard. It seems I have been using this product at less then basic level. I have only been using it to measure existing characters. Recently I have been using face morphs of various celebrities and getting their measurements with internet searches and just using the scale option. I might have a go at Sal's usage as it will give a better result.

    hmm, thats odd.

I just went to look for that cleanup script and couldn't find it.

Then I looked in my products page here on the website and it says it's "inactive" for the beta.

Now I have another question that may or may not be relevant to this thread.

Are "Figure Metrics" and "Measure metrics" the same product?

The plugin shows as loaded in the beta.

Just can't find the scripts associated with it.

The Pane opens fine and I can use it just fine.

edit: I bought a copy of "Measure Metrics" back in 2020.

  • Measure Metrics is a daz original plug-in and Figure Metrics is a PA product bundled with it (which is why updates for new figues are not necessarily immediately available, they don't get time assigned by Daz but depend on when they can be fitted in).

I'm having the same problem as the OP. When using G8M, there is a checkbox next to height (for example) allowing me to input my own values. This checkbox is not available when using G8F.

  • Go to the Configuration tab in the script's dialogue, then for height (or whatever) select a node (probably the figure) and a proeprty (use the male as a guide - Scale here) - you will then get the check box. This applies to any figure and any property.

Is Figure Metrics working fully on Geneis 9 yet?

  • There has not been an update with a new measures Wearables preset, no.
