Hand export mangled in export for gen 9 and gen 8.1

The character on the left is daz 8, her hands are ok'ish, the 2 middle ones are gen 9 - there hands are mangled. The one on the end is gen 8.1 - her hands are a bit mangled.
Any idea what is causing it? It happens on all gen 9 models and 8.1.

Is there a way to downgrade models from gen 9 and 8.1 to 8 ?
How are you exporting - using the bridge, directly to whatever the application shown may be?

I was thinking maybe it's a pose issue? ie the hands are "non standardly" twisted, I've tried a lot of standard animations and the hands (sometimes arms) are mangled. Can we insert a gen 8 link skel in 8.1 or 9 bodies? or just have the bones have same orientations as gen 8?
Being able to downgrade figures might help too.
It does make nearly all gen 9 and 8.1 nearly unusable. Unless you don't do anyhting with their hands.
