Request for Linday and other hair artists

This is a request for Linday and other hair creators that I really hope can work. Would it be possible to do more hair sets? In other words, could you create a style of hair and then create other different variations of it? The Primavera Hair with dForce Bundle is a small example of what I mean. It has 2 main variations, regular and ponytails. Also, dForce Wet Style Curly Hair for Genesis 8 and 9 and Classic Long Curly Hair with dForce for Genesis 8 Female(s) seem like 2 variations of the same hair style, but it would also be cool to see it in other variations as well, like a single ponytail, double ponytail, an updo version and so on. The Wind Warrior Hair with dForce for Genesis 8 Female(s) could also work as a different variation of Side Layered Messy Hair with dForce for Genesis 8 Female(s). For people who create stories or want to create them, it's a real pain to find different hair models that might look like the same haircut in different variations. It would be great to have hair sets that were designed to be  the same cut but styled in different ways. Characters in a story could have more versatility in the way their hair is styled in many different scenes. It would be great to see hair like Bang Bob Hair with dForce for Genesis 8 Female(s) in a bun, different ponytail variations, or even in a braid or two. That's just one example. There could be a lot of possibilities so hopefully it would be financially worth the time and effort as well. I hope that makes sense, and thanks for hearing me out.

I could use this also, but not sure I would be able to justify the price increase because of all the extra work. Keep in mind that any new hair will probably be for G9, but I guess you could use a converter if needed..

Quasar... Have you tried Kitbashing different hairs together.  I have done that... bangs from one hair... scalp from another.. then ponytail from another.  Most hair you can make parts invisible.  It's a little work but maybe you can try that til you find a hair versitile enough for what you want.  Just an idea ;)  Good luck!

I was thinking each new variation of a specific hair style could be released as it's own product, but also bundled in a set. That might make it more affordable for customers to pick up what they want most and/or get them over time rather than all at once. I'd definitely look for a converter if the hair was only made to work with G9.

I haven't really tried that technique yet. Usually, I just try to find other hair products that could pass as the same haircut that's styled differently. It kind of works sometimes if one of the custom hair shaders works on both products. I'll have to try tinkering with kitbashing too, though.

If the morph variations were a product add-on,  it could make sense from a time investment perspective.

Have you tried https://www.daz3d.com/colorwerks-3-dye-another-day-iray-hair-shaders on similar hair products.  So far the colorwerks product is easy to use (my current project is a bunch of similar G3 Goldtassel hairstyles) and maybe using the same hair shader will look like your character styled their hair differently.

I have this on my wishlist kwerkx... nice to see some feedback about it.  (waiting for a sale with fingers crossed)  ;)

I pair two different hair items together a lot. I use the Sloshworks hair shaders to make them the same color. I have a male character who has longer hair, but the only hair I can find has a bland front. In that case, I put one of those "fade" style hair with the shaved sides but with nice bangs together and it gave me exactly what I was looking for. In my picture, I used Qinfen hair for Geensis 9 along with Lee Roy Bowl hair for the bangs and then I used a Sloshworks hair shader to make them the same color.

Well, my picture won't upload to the post, so I can't show you how it looks, but I think you get what I mean.

  • I was just experimenting recently to get the right kind of scruffy look for a male character and tested various multiple-hair-item ways of getting it. I had good success in general with the Colorwerks 3 product, which I picked up not long ago. It's now one of my go-tos, along with an OOT product I really like a lot that is at "the other place."

I have the original ColorWerks Hair Shaders for Iray. They are really helpful for making different hair products look like they could be the same hair. I've used it for that before. The hardest part is finding products that look similar but in a different variations (with similar hairlines and such). Kitbashing could help but is also time consuming. So far, my favorite hair products have been ones with dForce since they are so versatile.
