Hi, I am currently using a 24" monitor 1080hd but I would love to get a 4K or even something higher but I want to keep the monitor as small as I can so I can enjoy my renders even more.
I do realise I have to increase the size of the monitor to get the benefits. Can anyone help me find a sweet spot?
Feel free to reccomend a few :)
My specs are
11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11400F @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
16.0 GB (15.9 GB usable)
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
nvidia geforce rtx 3060
Many thanks.

Here's a 24" 4K monitor. Aside from that, there's no shortage of 27/28" 4K monitors, so you wouldn't have to go MUCH bigger than your current monitor. I can't recommend a specific monitor, but I would like to point out that Daz Studio's interface does not currently support scaling, so if your vision isn't impeccable, you might have trouble using DS on a 4K monitor until DS5 is released (which may or may not be soon, who knows?).
I have a LG 38UW99 38 Inch with QHD+ and I am happy with it. The resolution is 3840x1600 (21:9 ratio). Currently I also have a rtx 3060 for Studio.
In my office I have a Dell U4919DW and this one is not optimal for DAZ because of the 32:9 ratio.
Hi thanks, I'm sorry, not sure what you mean about scaling on 4k using daz. Are you saying I won't get a good picture or the studio doesnt fit in the screen?
I mean that the interface will be very small and you might have trouble seeing it.
Oh I see, that would be annoying. I do sit at a desk close to my monitor. My vision is certainly not impeccable! Do you suggest I leave well alone then?
My aim really is to view my work post render in the best picture quality I can.
Hi, do you mean your Dell U4919DW is a monitor or a pc? Do you have issues with scaling on your interface as well?
I use a 4K TV at my desk. The point where monitors stop and TV starts is fuzzy.
Recent models all have game modes and high refresh rates.
If you also want HDR then getting a TV actually becomes the cheaper option!
Finding a 'sweet spot' is going to depend on your eyesight!
If you want more working space, it is better to get more monitors.
With 4K you will just get more pixels and everything in the interface will get smaller, which people often compensate by using the windows scaling to make everything bigger and negating the effects of having more pixels.
Although I do admit, the "Full HD" monitors have never had good enough resolution. I waited until I was able to get 1920x1200 monitors before dumping CRT's, currently using three 24" ones
This is a screencap of my desktop. If you download the actual 4K image and scale it up so that the DAZ forum avatar is the actual size of 30mm on your screen you'll see the 'visual resolution' I get from my TV.
(no idea if this method of attaching an image will work!?!?)
My setup (scaled down for the post);
(5760x1200)
What physical height is that when measured by a tape measure against the screen?
Height of the viewable area is 32,6 centimeters and width of one monitor is 52 centimeters (HP LA2405wg), resolution for each monitor is 1920x1200
If I were to get new monitors now, I would probably choose ones with vertical resolution of 1440, but I would not settle for less than three.
That would make the font size, on a 24" monitor, too small for my eyes. Fortunately, the TV I use, expands your screencap to 38cm height, 15% bigger!
Can I suggest you try to get to a B&M shop to look at the monitors if you're going to a 4k. My work got Dell 27" 4k's for CAD in 2019 (they may be better now). I could last 30 minutes before getting a migraine with them. I ended up reverting to the old 24"/HD monitors.

Richard
You should have seen me using 1600x1280 resolution on a 17" CRT some 30 years ago, but my eyes are not the same anymore, had to get reading glasses from the bargain bin
I know you said you wanted to keep it small, but I use a regular 42 inch TV that I got at Best Buy a couple of years ago during Christmas for 130 bucks that I double for my Roku and PS4 and it's the best decision I've ever made. I came to that decision too simply because the 4K monitors that were 18 or 27 inches, I forget which, were the same price as the 42 inch TV so I figured why not. I used my laptop a couple of weeks ago when I wasn't home to do some work, I had the hardest time seeing everything and can't imagine going back to a small screen again. I'm sure there's a reason people use a monitor instead of a TV, but I feel this works best for me. Something to think about if you can get a good deal on a TV that's similarly priced.
This is a tough one, everybody is going to say something different. You have to be able to decide what works for you. For me, I would not be able to stand a 24" screen. I can't stand trying to work on laptop screens. I can make do when I need to, but I don't enjoy it. I have a 32" 1440p screen now, and that is a nice sweet spot for me personally. 1080p is not dense enough IMO. 1440p is a solid pixel count boost and is perfectly fine for smaller screens.
At 24" or 27", I feel that 4K would be kind of pointless. A lot of monitors this size focus of 1440p rather than 4K. I personally see no benefit for having tiny text on the screen, especially on a 27" screen. If the idea is to get more work space, why not just get a second monitor instead of trying to squeeze more stuff on one tiny screen?
Personally, I want to enjoy my renders on the biggest screen possible. Working on the renders may be different, but viewing renders and making renders are two different things IMO. My goal is to get either a 32" or a 42" OLED in the next year or so, and keep my 32" screen as a second screen.
I suggest going to a store that sells monitors and just check them out. Maybe ask about a demo. You really need to see the screens for yourself to judge how you will like them. You might change your mind, or you might confirm what you want.
Appreiciate all your comments and suggestions. Thanks guys!
As a professionnal graphic designer and from my experience, I would highly recommend going with IIYAMA screens.
I have 3 of these beasts and I can confirm that I'm seriously happy with them : https://iiyama.com/fr_fr/produits/prolite-xb3070wqs-b1/
I would also recommand to get a calibrating device, you will be serieously surprised with the resule and with the real colors !!
This litte guy is perfect for that and very easy to use : https://www.datacolor.com/spyder/fr/produits/spyder-x-pro/
Cheers !
Iiyama is what I have at work. 8 hrs a day, 5 days a week, 10 years old and they are only very slightly washed out compared to new. Very good VFM. At home it's an Asus, which is not so good tbh.

I have a Dell 32inch 2k monitor. running in 16:9 .Its curved. Its sweet, but it is extremely difficult to see DS overall. The text is miniature. The icons in Smart content very hard to see. DAZ does need to have a zoom function or similar for its DS interface. Even if the different panels could be scaled would be very nice.
