While shopping, we need a hide/ignore button...

There are product I know I will never need,  but they get mixed into all searches and all sales, and a customer has to see these over and again.

I'd like to be able to hide/ignore the store products that are older, or for figures I don't use, or simply the wrong genre that we don't need.

Can this be implemented?

Steam has this options for its 8 million customers,  so how hard can it be?

Didn't we used to have this option? I just looked and even with DAZ Deals Pro, I don't see it anymore.

It is an option from Daz Deals add-on, I still see it and I don't have the pro version (though I never used it so I don't know if it works). Maybe check your preferences?

Leana, I must be blind. I can't see a reference to it on the screen for Daz Deals at all. I also never used that option when it was available, but there are a few items that are starting to annoy me to the back of my teeth.

I might be wrong, but I think it might be the big button "hide this item from listings" under the licenses section, but it doesn't really hide/ignore the product from the store, so I'm guessing it's just for the Daz Deals email notifications?

Unless there's some other, new feature in Daz Deals Pro? (I never had it, but it was my understanding that no new features were added since they were forced to make the paid version)

Ah, I looked straight at that! I still don't understand how it does it, because right under it, I have to list the programs I use, so I get notifications for them (all). I do have gallery notifications off, I simply get overwhelmed by all the other news feeds, solicitations and whatnot that drops into my inboxes daily. Maybe I would have to type in the individual product names or URLs to not see them?

The Daz Deals 'hide' has not worked for me for almost a year now - and quite frankly, I would really like to hide about two thirds of the store. I quickly tire of scrolling through  page after page of items I decided I had no use for years ago.

yes I support this immediately! It takes an infinite amount of time to keep coming across items (on the often hundreds of sale pages which can only be scrolled through at the bottom) that you will definitely, definitely never buy. I don't know how many sales I have skipped because of this.

We just need better filtering in general. I know that Daz Deals has some of these options, but most are only available in the Pro version (which, if I'm honest, is priced more than Daz+ can be had during discounts, and not nearly as valuable). The store has icons to show content type (figure, hair, poses, sets, etc), but no option to filter by those. Nor can you hide texture sets for clothes or hair you don't own (or, vice versa, quickly find textures for projects you do own), or quickly find if your wishlist products are in a sale (which you can't always do by looking for discounts on your wishlist, because discounts often only show in the cart or if a coupon is applied).

Yeah, that all went away with the "DAZ Deals Pro"--whatever that is supposed to be. I'm already on the DAZ+, and they want me on another premium option?

The irony of it is this might actually be something I would consider if I had any confidence it would work as advertized. For me, the "hide" feature never worked all that well when it was available.

With all the ProBundles I've bought, I've always tried hiding all those bloody StarterBundles (which all their items are included in the ProBundels, but it seems DAZ never thought to consider that little fact)--but only to see them all reapear in the listings about a week or so later. Since it takes several hours hunthing them all down, I finally gave up trying several months before the "DAZ Deals Pro" project started up, so I didn't find out about the change until almost 6 months ago.

Heh.  That's pretty much me.  18 pages even with genre and specific genration filters on.  After one or two pages, I get bored and then log off.  Guess I'm missing out on the farcical "golden-ticket-flash-item-token-count-limited-time-only" bonus, but life goes on.  : )

Daz Deals add-on is not developed by Daz.
Daz doesn't get money from the Daz deals pro subscription, and the Daz deals team doesn't get money from Daz+ memberships. Daz deals pro subscription is there to help the team finance their severs and devs.

...we definitely need better filtering, it's still too generalised which makes shopping for more specific items a total pain.  For example you select "Genesis 8 Female", and everything from characters to clothing to hair, to props to poses to textures, and sometimes even full sets that somehow have the G8F tag shows up still leaving you to slog through pages and pages.

We a set of product type filters like Clothing, Poses. Props. Hair, Environments. Lighting, Textures, etc to make searching more precise.  There should also be a filter to search specifically for or omit Bundles.

It was interesting that a company I worked for over 30 years ago could develop an extremely precise search engine (we had to as one of the main products was medical journal and abstract libraries on CD ROM) in the early days of the C++ Programming language, executed on old x86 hardware running DOS. Given all the advancements in hardware and software tools that have been developed since then, one would think it would be a piece of cake today.

Thank you for the support, Leana! It's true, we're unaffilated with Daz. We used to pay our expenses with affiliate income from the emails, but that changed awhile back and we had to move to the subscription model to cover costs. I wish we could go back to the affiliate model, but alas...

That said, the "hide this product from listings" does indeed seem to be broken currently. That's likely due to some change in the product listing code...which means it likely also broke the ability to hide Vue, Carrara, etc. products too... It's hard to keep up with the shifting HTML here, but we'll get it to the top of our list.

    Cheers, all!

I use the search quite a bit and can usually find things I am looking for, but sometimes it takes jumping thru a few hoops or thinkng outside the box.

Personally I don't feel it is a lack of filters, but the filters actually working with the correct search data plugged in, either from DAZ or the PAs who use incorrect catagories. For instance, looking for genesis 8 female characters if you use the blue bar to filter from characters, to human to feminine and then down below that choose the figure, you should get just characters, but there is clothing, hair and bundles mixed in, so obviously it seems the products are coded wrong..

...true setting accurate tags is a major part of the process.  We made sure everything was in its right place  and thoroughly tested every master disc before sending it to the duplication/pressing service.

However it would be nice if we were able to filter out items that were no needed so one didn't have to slog through pages and pages..

For me it would be a great help if some Vendors I will never buy (again) from could be filtered... So, yeah, more options to filter stuff would be great. yes
