How to chose CPU versus video card?

I cannot for the life of me remember how to go between rendering from the CPU or rendering from my video card. I cannot find the option anywhere (I have the newest Studio) and Google isn't revealing anything, either... and if I search it here, I get a bunch of things that do not answer how to do this. If someone can please remind me, I'd be most grateful.

Are you wondering how to switch between Iray and 3Delight?

No, I figured that out a long time ago... I want DAZ to stop rendering on my CPU, and use my video card instead. I've done it before, but a long time ago and I cannot find the option anymore.

So you want to disable the CPU assist and just work purely from the GPU. Go to Render Settings, at the top of the pane you have three tabs, Presets, Editor, Advanced. Select Advanced you should see check boxes for CPU and your video card under the Photoreal and Interactive Device categories. Deselect CPU and make sure your GPU is selected. You may want to check OptiX Prima Acceleration. Im not sure what it is exactly, but it will help speed up your renders. Is this what you were wondering about?

  • Yes, this was it. But I could have sworn this was available under the 3Delight render, not just under the Iray choice of engine.

    3Delight only uses CPU.
