What's the best tool for ensuring character height? I need to pose a 6'3" man facing a 5'3" woman and I want the scale fairly accurate. Is there a Daz tool for that?

There's the Measure Metrics plug-in, it's pretty expensive but it's a DO so it goes on sale reasonably often.

I usually create a 1x1x1m primitive and scale the hight to what I need and then adapt the character to that, (bit easier with metric scale)
Google measuring wall freebie (and remember to use it with an orthographic camera like "front")
thanks, y'all ... all good ideas :)
Or use the free one by Spyrorue

My method is similar to Linwelly. I create a cylinder and place the standing character inside that. Set the Y scale to the height desired (it is easy in metric as 1% = 1cm) and then alter the height of character so that the top of the head is just appearing outside the cylinder.
Remember to use the height dial to adjust heights, don't just scale the figure or the proportions will be wrong.
As Linwelly mentioned, DazStudio can create a primitive cube to waterever dimenion you need. So using the inches option, a 75 inch cube is the height of the male, and 63 inch cube is the height of the female. That's about as exact as it would need for posing. Delete the cubes once you have scaled the characters and faced them towards each other.
Measure Wall is free. No need to create anything. 2.0 even includes poses that mimic getting your height measured (legs and arms down.) Apply pose, load a wall, boom.
I don't think they have a G9 measure pose yet, but G9 is already near that pose since their legs are closer together.
The wall is transparent, so you just load it up and have it in the center of your character. He made metric and imperial walls, there are also walls of different heights.
The paid Measure Metrics in the store has more stuff, and can measure limbs, torso and all that, even chest size if you want to measure bust. But if you just want height, nothing beats Measure Wall 2. I use it a lot, and have the poses in my shortcuts.
Personally, I use a null. Set the "y" axis to the height you need, then use appropriate scale sliders to get your default posed character to the proper height. Since nulls don't render, you don' have to worry about deleting them.
