Price Low-High missing some free items

I use the price low-high option in the store to check for new free items. Today it only showed the English Village Pub Games before the ones that cost money, but when I looked at the Labor Day Special sale it included some other free items, the dForce Dancing Queen dress and some lite versions of other items. I bought the dress and it did go through the store as free

Where did you see that dress linked? Maybe I am being blind but I cannot see it displayed anywhere.

It could be that those items are "delisted" and so do not show up on catalogue views but are still enabled so you can go to them directly if you know the URL?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found them in the daz-originals page. Not sure why they don't show up in the main shop pages tho.

  • Well, this may get deleted if they are not really supposed to be available/free but here we go:

    1. https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-dancing-queen-outfit-for-genesis-9
    2. https://www.daz3d.com/daily-ease-poses-lite
    3. https://www.daz3d.com/click-n-render--pop-edition--ibl-set-lite
    4. https://www.daz3d.com/skies-of-economy-redux--volume-1-lite
    5. https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-mk-hime-cut-hair-for-genesis-9-lite
    6. https://www.daz3d.com/iradiance-hdr-mesh-lights-volume-2-for-iray-lite
    7. https://www.daz3d.com/street-vignettes--calle-pintada

There are some others in there that are older and/or already listed on the freebies or bridge pages.

I can see the "One Tree Hill" one but it does say it's "Inactive" so going to it gives a 404 error. It might have been pulled because of the TV series but I never watched that so don't know if it's connected or just co-incidence?

well in South Australia we have a town called One Tree Hill, I have never heard of a TV series, that town pretty old and not far from me (same council district)

"One tree hill" product is a diorama with a old tree on a hill, nothing to do with the TV series. It's a rather old product as I purchased it in 2010.

  • Ahh, the TV Series looks to be a US college/teen/baskeball drama thing - so not related then I guess.

The internet says it's a Stonemason product so not too sure why it's inactive. Although I have seen PAs on other places "retire" old products so that might be an explanation.

A lot of them say LITE... so I'm wondering if you need to have the full version for them to work?  I got them too.

Not had a chance to open them yet - but from the descriptions it looks like these are "demo" or "partial" versions of the full products. So you don't need the main products but you are only getting some of the features. That would make sense as to why they are free.

So in that case it was probably a little pointless me grabbing some of them since I already have the full versions of two or three.

It's likely to be an intended decision by Daz because @PerttiA and @BronzeDragon shared those links last week in the Freebies categorie and their messages were not moderated.

You don't need the full version to make them work. I downloaded them after they were shared last week and I did some renders with the dress, the Street vignette and the Sky HDRI: everything was fine.

If you mean the LE versions, like Millennium Horse LE, they are  usable out of the box models, even with some expressions (morphs), textures &/or poses, but less than the full version. LEs also just have a single breed/species/coat color if applicable, and you need the full version to have them all. Most LE item descriptions mention that they use less resources as well.

(For those new(er) to Daz Sudio, the product pages don't list DS in Compatible Software, only Poser (& sometimes bridges); however they ARE usable in DS, but will be found in the Poser section of your content (scroll down to find it). At the very least textures will need tweaking unless you are rendering in 3DL.)

  • I shared PerrtiAs post in the Carrara freebie thread too but one I grabbed today got added since

it's one of several products I retired recently, and is named after One Tree Hill in NZ,

I was late in finding out about these freebies, I got some of them but sadly missed your Stonemason, such a shame, love your stuff. I did get some stuff tho so not a complete loss.

The "Lite" freebies have never been in the shop before and have never had any price which could be listed by the Daz Deals.

The new logo with "Lite" on it looks interesting and makes one wonder if there's going to be something special in Santa's bag this year...
