Geo-graft tail for Genesis 9?

Why isn't there a geo-graft tail for Genesis 9? So far I've tried 2 different tails that are for Genesis 9 and they both don't blend well into the figure. There are obvious transitions between the tail and the figure. It's like the creator expected that the character would always be wearing something of some sort to cover that area. Maybe I'm just missing one that's out there already? Just frustrating. I've tried previous versions for other figures and I'm having a difficult time in lining up the tail to the figure so that can parent it, since conforming it to Genesis 9 incapacitates the available morphs in the tail itself. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Well, as one of the people who frequently puts out furries with prop tails, let me explain where I'm coming from not doing geograft tails:

The first issue you touch on, is wearing clothes. Many furries are depicted wearing clothes, and geograft elements like tails are a huge pain for that.
Another issue has to do with drawn figures vs. 3d. A 3d figure has to work from all angles, poses, etc. There's a LOT you can just fake with illustrations. Realistically, the way many tails are drawn, the base of the tail would clip through the body constantly. And the base of the tail would be all warped and weird.
The core problem here is that animals with tails generally have a pelvis and leg design that accommodates the tail. A human just isn't designed that way, and trying to find a convincing realistic way to bring in the tail leads to a design conflict.
In my case, the furries I do have fur, which helps hide the transition.

Having a prop tail gives you a lot of freedom to move the tail around to your personal taste, or even move it per scene to get the exact look you want. You can also use that prop tail on other figures as desired. Or make a fox person with 9 tails.

The last time I did a geograft tail was my Otter for G8, and with that I ended up moving the legs far apart to be more like a standing quadruped, like an otter. It required a very splayed look so the tail would follow the geometry. And then it played havoc on clothes.

Anyway, just an explanation for why I, for one, don't do geo-graft tails.

  • Well my characters tend to be more of a demon origin and therefore don't have fur. And sometimes the clothes they wear don't always cover that part of the body so the area is exposed and looks weird. So I guess I get to "fix" the issue in post, which I'd rather not have to do. A Genesis 8 version would work if it wasn't for the conforming issue incapacitating the morphs. And if I knew how to deal with world coordinates better I might actually get the items lined up so I could just parent it instead. I've not had much success with that.
