Been too grumpy and/or busy to post anything here for a bit, but here's a panel from the current story featuring Phx Henry, who arrived at exactly the right moment to get cast as this character.
This entire story is done in a visual style with a lot of grunge on the lens, for various reasons, and I really liked that the grunge, when combined with the fluorescent light fixture over his head, gave him that sort of halo effect in this panel. His right shoulder is clipping through his shirt but it doesn't matter because I knew I was going to crop to use only the right-hand half of the image in the story anyway.
Wanna see but isn't there
(Seems like you deleted the attachment)
There's something weird going on. I attached it to the post and then added an inline display to the post, as usual. When I made my next post, it tried to attach the same image automatically to that one. So I deleted the attachment from the SECOND post ... and that deleted it from the first one as well?
But I also still see the image inline in the first post, even though there's no attachment?
Hmph. This forum software is held together by baling twine and duct tape.
Here it is again, just in case. (You didn't miss much.)

Refresh after making a post with an attachment to get rid of the ghost atachment on the new post (if you want to post again immediately).
It took me three rounds of posing, rendering and postwork to finally get something I liked. Used: https://www.daz3d.com/p3d-ursula-hd-for-genesis-9 and https://www.daz3d.com/blood-splash-for-genesis-9 (though it might be hard to see with other blood I put there). I also got to use for the first time LI Kinetic Arcana, 1-Click PBR Dragon, DA Let it Snow, the Spectral Dragon, and possibly also Brutal Weapons, but since I bought them much earlier, they don't count, so they're listed in the gallery along with the two previous versions of the image.
Okay I am experimenting around with Aiki 9 and the new Filatoon shader. I really don't know what I am doing with it yet but this is an early render. I welcome comments criticisms any input at all. I forgot to resize it so you will have to click on the image below.
I love Isil as a character, but getting any expression out of her was a major pain. Something to keep in mind if you do expressive characters. The outfit seems nice, but since the pose was static, I didn't get around to simulating it yet.
I said in the new releases thread that I was buying Magic Brush's Ula to use as a daughter for characters based on Zelara, as I think there is a strong resemblance. As it happens, when I did a test render, the resemblance wasn't quite as strong as it is in the store-page images, but it's still there.
Anyway, here is my character Bianca Zildan (not a nice person!), who is Zelara with a fair bit of weight and a little bit of age added, and with her is Ula, playing a character who is ... probably her daughter? Not clear yet.
Note that this saved base for Bianca is loaded exactly the way she was when I last left her ... in 2021; ancient history in terms of my Studio progress. I didn't own the HD shapes for Zelara yet at the time, and her subd level is not set high here. But the HD stuff doesn't really contribute much to her face anyway, except a few eye and lip wrinkles.
Note also that both of them are standing at Y zero with flat feet and no shoes on. You don't notice how short G9s tend to be until you pose them next to G8s ...
I wasn't originally planning to do an entry for Renderosity's Halloween contest, as it's not nearly as funny as putting horses in their swimsuit contest, but I had an idea abusing Chris Cox's recent Dark Magik Outfit that I decided I wanted to do anyway.
(If you do want to lend one of your votes, then while I don't think forum rules here let me link directly, this is entry #246 in their 2024 3D Halloween Contest).

You're right, that's not nearly as funny as putting horses in the swimsuit contest, but it's still pretty darned funny.
It's great to see everyone's renders! "Advertised" here, some products went straight to my wishlist!
I'm still trying to render all the stuff (which wasn't that much compared to the previous month) I got this month, so here it goes.
His Army
New items used:
Aegenwulf for G9 - I really like him, though it's hard to find an outfit that wouldn't conceal his great tattoos.
Daemonium Horns for G9 - it took me a moment to figure out how to use it, but all in all I'm satisfied with it.
Architectual Light Rig (from last month) - a proof that getting older products can be worth it. I was surprised how well it worked for what I needed and I appreciated an extra line to show the light's direction.
The new-to-me but not new items inclued Faceless for G9 (love it), Chert the Troll (kind of invisible because of the Faceless settings applied), and Bioangel Wings, linked in the gallery along with an alternative color version.
For my entry for October for 'Llola Lane’s RENDER A MONTH Challenge 2024' (theme: Invertebrate), I'm using the nice Little Friends Bundle by @Sylvan: I got the Ladybug when it was a Premier for a day (and started to built the scene around it) but didn't get the Bumblebee when it was one. I got the whole bundle two days ago thanks to the wishlist sale. I tried to get the three insects in the render, but failed to find a proper place for the stick I'll pretend it's somewhere in the blurred background, so ‘… Let’s go exploring’
All items from Daz should be linked in the gallery. The two freebies by @AllenArt are here:
I picked up the "Grace" boat model earlier in the month.
Decided my Diner could be a the docks with a ship behind it.
And couldn't render it.
I've been switching from my old machine win 7 with a 12g titanX and then new one (win 10) with a 1080ti but only 11g and discovering that many of my renders really wanted that extra gig of ram.
So after the render with the ship failed ... I turned off the ship turned on the ocean to see it there was an issue with the ship.
Render worked and then I noticed I hadn't lowered the sea level.
Ended up naming the first image "Paradise Lost".
I have now put the titanx in the box with the 1080ti and iray seems to bumble through ... I see messages in the log that say "no memory stopping, no wait there's some, I'll keep going"
It's not throwing the stuff over to the 12 card but does use some of the memory .. the 1080 usually shows 10800 being used but the titan does show 8000 so iray is using them both somehow.
Need to figure out how to change the titan to 0 and the 1080 to 1 and see if I get the memory without losing the speed bump of about 50% on the 1080
---
On the Grace the interior lights came in at a luminance of 50 I had to bump that to 150000 to get what's in the image.
After some hiccups with my computer and GPU, I was able to finish up this little project this week. I used some Zeddicuss pose sets from the PA sale and some G9 expression sets I got in the DAZ Premier sale.
It's a song I worked on for a little music challenge, and I felt like trying out some animation snippets in DAZ for the music video. Lacking the time and patience to render things properly, my final frame rates are atrocious. Hope you can ignore/forgive that... I had a lot of fun though, and will definitely be trying out more animation.
The song is called Twin Hearts, but is really about the intertwined relationship between artists and their inner muses. The music video visualizes the idea as twins linked in harmony as they live and move. (The idea was inspired by the Olympic synchronized swimming duet teams, where 4 out of the 5 top teams were twins, moving together in harmony).
Your songs are sublime, a really beautiful voice and I really liked the animated illustrations of your clip, sorry for my poor English

Yes, the newly uploaded one I can see. And yes, the forum isn't a technical highlight in the DAZ universe
But as you mentioned it, I was interested to the grunge on the lens. I haven't needed that effect yet. But good to know how it can be done.
He looks like a deer in the headlights.
Yeah, that I figured out later, but I wasn't expecting that delete on the ghost attachment would also delete it from the original post.
I've reuploaded and fixed the original post.
Yeah, he kinda does ... and it's deceptive; he's going to do something nasty two panels later.

CC Talan again, because I like him, and also trying Hawk Eye: Wildenlander for G9 and its texture addon. Nice outfit. The rest of the items in the gallery.
And another one. Crossposted from Daz+ forum.

Mine is crossposted from Daz+ forum.
New items used: Dain 9, Demon Servant Outfit for G9 and its Texture Add-on, and Giant Sword Poses for G9. The rest of the items in the gallery. I have to say that Dain is quite a mellow guy for someone who was included in the four themed "Raiders of the Apocalypse" bundles...

Morning Surprise
No one expected a witch so early in the morning.
Used: https://www.daz3d.com/cj-eden-hd-for-genesis-9, https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-bw-shadow-realm-outfit-for-genesis-9-8-and-81-female, and https://www.daz3d.com/bs-dforce-cloth-simulation-shaders (obviously not visible in the render). Gallery image here.
I love the Shadow Realm outfit. It has a truly ethereal and light feel to it and it simulated nicely (as you can see) with the presets.
