Hi Guys!
I have a problem. O ya, I have TWO problem - the first thing, i dont speak english... The second is the transfer utility. I have a model (a cloth). That is a static object. I have in 3dsMax and ZBrush created and imported in DAZ. When i will the transfer utility use, then the following problem come (the first picture show the before position of my modell and the second picture show the new position - after, when i the transfer utility used). Also i have a modell in perfect position BEFORE and in a total bad position AFTER. I hope, you understand me :) What can i make again this problem? How can i this fixing?
thx all answer :)

  • Is your model in its zeroed state (no transforms or morphs applied)? Is the figure in the zeroed state?

  • yes, the two is in zero. The model pivot point is in figure pivot point.

Hi,, Did  you use template (pant ,shut ,body suit etc)  when transfer weight ,rigs?

or from base shape mesh (no template)?    and may need to tell  which base figure you use.G3f g2f etc.

and how you import obj? because if  it is problem of your import  plug in (z brush?) .

I tested with Gen3female ,with current ds 4.8 . then use pants template.

    1. import simple protector mesh by daz import option,  from blender.

(not use bridge etc,,though I try samething by hexagon bridge on this ds 4.8, it was no problem I felt)

2 it keep pivot pooint as zero world position. (I made so in blender),   I check obj tranlsation, scale, rotaiton, in parameter tab

3 then set transfer utiltiy Souce= gen3f  (zero morph, zero scale, zero translation, check, if  hidden morph applied ,eg some foot pose morph)

target = the protector obj,  use template "pants"

4  after transfer rig and weight,by Transfer utility,  with fit-to option, (no smooth modifier applied)

the obj keep the position, perfect.

Then,,  I feel you need to  check  parameter tab, untill trasnfer weight rigs,

if the obj has been translated , scale (eg flipped -1 scale) or not when you import obj  by your importer (if you use z brush importer)

and you can export obj, untill transfer rigs, with daz default option,

then import again it as obj , it will remove all translation, rotation, scale value at current. then try transfer utility.

  • Kitakoredaz - thank you, your answer was a good basic point. I made all of the 4 step, but the problem was there. Then i have many test made and the conclusion: the problem come only when i use the "fit to" function. Also i selected my Victoria7 and my imported obj, than "send to zbrush", there i made the correct position, then Goz (go back in DAZ) and than in DAZ stand my obj in correct pisition on my figure :) That is 4minutes ;)
thank you for all the help :)
...what is the "pants template"??? I can not found in google too...

Ah,, I see why it happen.  you clear said, it happen when you use "fit to" option.

because You model the clothing for Victoria 7shape?

Vicotria7 is actually  morphed shape, (though she is famous character) of genesis3female. Usually, we may better not model for Victoria7.. or Aiko6 or Vcitoria5 etc,  at least untill  you know all option  of transfer utilit clear.

If   you model clothing for genesis3female base shape, and transfer weight,  rigs, when we fit clothing to Victoria7 (or other character shape)  ( both,, in transfer utility option, or manually "fit to").  the morphed shape should be auto transfered to the clothing , then we need not make every character shape clothing for one base shape.wink

But  if you model your  obj for Victoria7 shape,  after you use transfer utility,  (as default)  ds try to transfer weight and rigs from base shape of current Actor .  DS believe you model the obj for base shape not Vicotira 7. without you use other option. then after "fit to", the delta "victoria 7 shape  - genesis3female shape"  auto followd  to the clothing. then  it move and mess up.

about template, see my pic.. (sorry, I am not native too, and I can not tell clear,, each option detail and how to use)but even though you understand other options, usually  you are suggested only use base model at  start point to make clothing, etc.

use morphed shape for template, then model clothing for morphed shape often cause problem when you use transfer utility.you may find how to avoid these problem, but after all, you may re-shape your obj, for base shape. then the clothing work (at least, auto-follow work) for every genesis3female character shape.

I am really sorry that i cannot normal speaking - but i understand what you write (i see only english tutorial since 3years, so i understand many but i dont speak...)
    so:
    1. my caracter is the Victoria 7 and i made my cloth to the victoria shape - that's a problem :) Because in the shape the bones are in other position; and the difference between the original pose of my modell and the "fit to victoria 7" pose is so little... - i understand already. Manymany thanks for you :)
    2. i see your pic from transfer utility and i know already this popup realy good but i can use this menu. I cannot click on. This is in my case grey / inaktiv. I hope, you understand - i have nothing tip that why? Need any plus installation? I use DAZ 4.8 Pro. When i make my cloth to base shape, then need i this option?

EDITEDITEDIT edit to 2.!!! This menu can i use on Genesis 3 Female (the base shape) only! When i use for figure the Victoria 7 shape, then i cannot use this menu (it is inaktiv).

Please do not say sorry about your english,,  ( native user may laugh  my english  or they can not understand what I write here angel;)

    then about 1.

yes it should cause problem. then modelator asked you  zeroed satte or not.  I just hoped to confirm it.

you better re-model again for the genesis3female shape not for Victoria7  then try again.

(actually the current obj which fit to V7 can be used to overwrite auto-followed morph, then you did not waste your time.

I may serch the tutoriall etc,, how overwite generate moprh,,, if I could find)

about 2,, hope it work for you too. ^^;  (I do not remember when I select V7, these projection template turn as active or not,, thank you teach it me)

  • so - hi again :)
i have new problem :D The image show it perfekt. Also i made new models to genesis 3 female and all are perfekt. All is in perfekt position, when i apply the victoria 7 shape then too all perfekt :)
But when i will a pose use then the middle modell (the loin) (all elements is a modell; also shoes, armor, loin) make an interesting deformation :D How can i fix this? This is a weight map problem? Need i weight map to make with hand or it is automatic generated?
can i with you on skype speak (only chat)?

    thx a lot - tobibandi

The problem is too sharp an edge to the weight maps for the legs, so that all of the stretching is being doen by a single row of polygons. Try selecting some polygons down the middle of the loincloth and then with the Node Eight Paint Brush right-click and select Smooth for each of the leg weight maps.
