How exact a copy? Edit>Duplicate gives commands for adding another item like the selected one, but fully independent - so you can adjust it as if it was newly loaded content. Create>New Geometry Shell will create a new item that is linked to the original, and will chnage its shape or pose as the original does, but which can have its own material settings. Create>New Node Instance will create a live clone of the original, the only ways in which it can be chnaged are scale and location within the scene. From first to last those require progressively fewer system resources.
