Well I finally cracked this one, using simple Daz/Unity techniques and no other tools to fix the joint deformation problem in exports / animation on clothing.

Any chance, you could share some details about how you did it?
Smothing of bone influence in Daz and increasing bone influence counts in Unity and in some cases custom re-rigging in Blender (not required that often), biggest problems were with complex clothing near shoulders/arm pit and groin.
