Can someone PLEASE explain this SLOWLY and STEP by STEP

I want to put a G2M belt on a G8M character. The saved file explodes by a factor of TEN. Since I wish to use this character in an on going story, that is going to be a lot of wasted space. I recall reading that there is a way to save the belt as something and then parent to the character so it doesn't take up all of this space. Can someone please provide a link and explain how I need to do? Thank you in advance.

That depends.. but if you used auto-fit when loading that belt on G8, the 'data size' of converted geometry would be big. If you do not save the converted belt as a Figure asset, its geometry data will be saved within your scene file, then its file size will turn bigger.

But no matter you save it as figure asset or not, it will occupy almost the same space on your disk... so it's up to you. The menu item of saving Figure asset is as attached.

    1) Select the belt and save it as Figure/Prop asset.
    2) Delete the belt from your char.
    3) Reload the belt to your char. from the folder where you saved the figure asset
