Hi,
I'm helping a customer of mine. Here is a screen shot of what's happened to his workspace.
Can you tell me how to correct this and get his regular workspace back?

It looks like he updated while Daz Studio was still running. When closing Daz Studio it can take several minutes to close all processes.
To solve, close Daz Studio and reinstall.
Hi felis,
Thanks so much for the valuable info.

Did it help? I would expect the whole thing to be white if it was the isntalaltion issue, as that corrupts the style file. You seem to have the "empty" colour set to white, and no Viewport or other pane in the central dock area, but the other panes look normal.
Hi,
After days of working with this problem, my customer still cannot get DS back up and running.
He contacted tech support, but they just told him to uninstall and re-install.
He has uninstalled and reinstalled at least 3 times. He has used both daz uninstall, uninstalled with Windows 10. installed through DIM, downloaded an new DIM everything shows up the same as the screen.
Any help will truly be appreciated.

So, if it is not an installation problem, what would I have to do to get the Viewport or other pane in the central dock area to show up?

What happens if you go Window > Workspace > Select Layout and select a layout?
Or just open the Viewport from Window>Panes(Tabs) and drag it, by the top bar, to the top of the empty dock area - you should see a line of highlight colour when it is in the right place. Uninstalling/reinstalling won't touch settings.
@lululee1,
If your customer tried all the suggested ways in here but the issue still sustains, you may ask him to uninstall DS first, cut and past this folder: '%AppData%\DAZ 3D\Studio4\' to somewhere else on another disk. Then re-install DS and launch the program.
If it still fails, plus: go to Windows Registry - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\DAZ\Studio4, back it up and delete. Then re-install DS and try again....
This is not a good idea, there is a risk of breaking things.
Hi, I hope it is ok to post this here with the link. If it isn't, please remove.
Everything is running now.
I have a question.
He backed up the "Data" file shown in the attachment.
Do I have to reinstall everything into the "data" folder or can I back up the new "data" folder so I have it , but put my original "data" folder
back where it was?

I really don't think a full clear-out like that is advisable, even if Jay is doing it.
If your content was installed through Daz central (which the paths look like) or DIM then it should be enough to reimport the emtadata, once you have the content diectories correctly set up (check that you can load through the Content Library>Daz Studio Formats and Poser Formats).
In fact there's nothing broken. It's just like a reset to the situation / status that one has never installed DS. And there're also backups...
Lots of my subscribers resolved the similar issues in this way and we've even written a program to clear them all + residuals.
Jay used the same way as I suggested. No need to back up data folder unless you've modified files there...
