Sorry. More Questions about Genesis versions

I'm trying to search the forum but my searches just take me to the store, so I've been Googling everything but I can't find an answer to this and need some help understanding what's possible. Okay, I found this: "The backward-compatibility of Daz Studio Genesis 8 means that almost every asset and item that has been created for previous generations Genesis, Genesis 2 or Genesis 3 are compatible with Daz Studio Genesis 8 and can be used." Does that include morphs, characters and other shapes? It seems I did buy some stuff for Genesis 8 awhile back (that I barely remember doing) but I was most active during Genesis 1 and would love a way to "move up" some of my favorite characters to a more current version of Genesis. Is there a way to do this? Sorry to just keep flooding the forum with questions, but (as mentioned) I can't figure out the search function in the forum. Thanks in advance.

That sentence mainly refers to clothes, that you can convert with the autofit clones included in the base G8 figures. G8 can also use G3 skins out of the box.

For morphs you will need a converter, and for textures beside G3 you will need the "legacy UVs" products.

Thanks, Leana. I found a tutorial by Sickle Yield I might try. Also... so excited to try to get back into everything! I have so much to learn now! surprise

I feel like a total newb. The next terrifying thing will be the D Force thing. NO IDEA how that works at all...

Wish me luck! And thank you! heart

Welcome back! When you feel ready to play with Dforce your best option is to start with Rgincy's thread - grab the three pdf files from the first message or just read through the thread as time permits.

Genesis 3 skins can be used on Genesis 8. A few caveats:
    - Eye materials won't work properly. Here's a free fix.
    - Lash materials won't work.
    - For Genesis 3 core character skins to work (Michael 7, Victoria 7, Olympia 7, etc... all the ones with "7" in their name, basically), you need these two items: Character UVs G8M, Character UVs G8F

Genesis 3 morphs can be transferred pretty much flawlessly with XTransfer, with only the occasional minor inaccuracy.
Only caveat is that geografts won't transfer, so things like Star 2.0 or Centaur 7 won't work.

To transfer skins and morphs from Genesis 2 and earlier to Genesis 8 you'll have to work a little harder, and the results won't always be very accurate.
For morphs you will need various "GenX" products by Dimension3D.
For skins you will need various Legacy UV products by Cayman Studios.

    Good luck!
