Is the Jordan Hair for Genesis 8 Female.... missing the actual hair for anyone else but me?  o0

There are icons for Jordan Eyebrows, Jordan Eyelashes, and there are Materials appliers to change the color of the hair, but there's no icon to actually load the hair itself onto a character in the scene.  I even went and opened the relevant zip file in my Install Manager's Downloads folder, figuring maybe the loader for the hair itself had been stuffed somewhere else.... like in the relevant Character folder, but.... nope, it doesn't seem to be in there anywhere.

Did the product zip get corrupted or something?  0o

A saved scene preset I made containng the Jordan character, with her hair attached, loads fine, so apparently the hair itself is still there, I just don't have a way to apply the hair onto new characters.  Well, other than loading the scene preset, and then reparenting the hair.

If you can load it, you can save it as a wearable preset.

If you look in Content Library > Products > Jordan Hair for Genesis 8 Female, isn't it there either?

  • I have used Jordan hair before so I'm not sure what has happened in your case. If memory serves, the hair was originally located in Jordan's folder in the Character directory, however I moved it to the Hair directory for my needs. I don't use Smart Content (I think that's what it's called), but instead use manual and DIM installs

If it is located in the Products folder, you can right click on the hair and select 'Show in Mapped Folder' and it'll take you to it's location in the Content Tab...if it hasn't been moved manually. Maybe you know all that though. And I'm wasting my time explaining. ;-)

From where you are at in your screenshot, on the Jordan file, scroll up to the top (above 3D Universe) to the Hair file, and you will find the Jordan Hair.duf in there. I'd highlight (select) then in the lower right (+ and - on the Left) select the copy asset, then go back down to the Jordan file and paste it in there (from the lower right again). It won't make a copy of the preset, just create a link to the original. (you can check that by browsing to its file location and see that it created a .djl link which is 1kb.)

This way you will be able to find the Hair in both places.

There're no other folders inside Hair alphabetically above 3DUniverse....  Oh, do you mean go back "up" a level to being JUST in the Hair folder?  That one shows as empty.  >>stares at it a moment, right clicks and selects Refresh<<  Oh, NOW some hair icons have come visible, and Jordan Hair is in there.

Bah, why was Daz Studio leaving that section blank until I refreshed?  0o
