That looks like a really nice place for a wedding, and they look a really cute couple ( and there is sombody very pround standing on the side). Best wishes to their future.
So it seems you found soem time rendering again, that dress looks nice with tamesis there
Thanks Linwelly! They are really great kids and I was happy to welcome her into our family officially lol. That's his best man, they have been friends since grade school, so about 15 years or more.
And yes, I am very glad to have some time now to do some more renders. It really does help me relax
I love seeing old content brought forward to modern renders. This droid poses aweful but renders great! Nice work!
Thanks Greybro!
Anyone who is nervous about transferring your G3F characters over to G8F, check out this thread. Redz tutorial and morph helper make it a breeze. Easy step by step instructions.
I'm going to write a short to do list for this month. I need to have some structure if I want to learn what I want to learn. Have the time I lose track of something I saw that I wanted to learn or read and then forget what it was...Now that the wedding is done, I should be able to get a bit more done, barring any camping we decide to do.
1. Convert G3F characters to G38 - I will at least have all of my A characters done tonight - I'm up to the E's, so A,B,C, and D are done. Will update as I go so I don't forget where i am lol.
2. Read Novica's thread on Geometry Tool & Materials
3. Do one make up on one skin in Photoshop.
4. Model at least one item in Carrara by the end of the month. And catch up on the threads and the contest for Carrara
5. Continue to convert V4 clothes to G3F and keep adding to the Who Knew conversion thread.
6. Retexture 1 item of clothing in Photoshop.
7. Make one landscape in Bryce and figure out how to move it into Daz Studio/or use it as an environment in a render.
Wow that is an ambitious list. I'm going to pick your item 1 for my "to do/learn" list. I takes me long to do anything in Daz and I have to fight to find time to play with it. Conversion sounded scary but since you said it's a breeze, I'll give it a try on a couple of characters :)
I still haven't done my content categories, but your ideas/instructions are book marked. The longer I wait to do it, the worse it will be for me, I know...
I'm always very nervous when I try anything new in Daz lol. The PDF file for the tutorial is very easy to follow. I went ahead and printed it out so I would not have to keep flipping between screens. Its only 3-4 pages and one page is pictures showing where stuff is. Make sure you save your scene when he tells you to, once that's done, the actual transfer of the morphs is easy peasy.
And you are right the longer it takes to start the longer its going take to do it lol. I lost my entire category structur in the move from 4.8 to 4.9 and had to redo the whole thing. After a year of being a pc+ member, uncounted freebies and stuff from other stores. It took me over 2 months of working 3-4 hours in the evening and 6+ hours Sat - Sun to put it all back together. I now have it backed up so if it happens again, I can just plug in the back up.
This is Julianna one of the two new characters by Virtual World for Genesis 8 Female. You get two character morphs Julia and Juliana, they share the same textures. Support for 3Delight, Iray and Iray Legacy. Really beautiful characters.
Juliana again, although I am going to have to redo the shaders on her outfit.
The odd redness on her hands and arms, I'm pretty sure is coming from the Anagennisis shader, and to be honest, I like her skin better without it which is rare. I'm guessing I could go in and change the tone to a bit more bluish to even it out but I like the skin she comes with so when I fix the clothes, I will also be redoing her texture to the original which looks much better. She really is a lovely character and Julia is turning out to be just as lovely.
Great render. OMG the leopards are a great touch, I love them. The water looks realistic too.
I realized the more I look at the render the more there is to see. The kitty. The butterflies. Great stuff.
Thank you! I am getting better at adding more stuff to my scenes. If you look very closely toward the back there is a baby leopard rolling around on his back next to his momma. He may be a bit too far away to see clearly though.
That's who I was referring to when I said "kitty" Love it.
Oh lovely! Beautiful scene! I see what you mean about the skin - it looks a bit shiney too.
That cat in the back playing with the butterflies cracks me up! lol And the cat in the front really looks like he's anticipating her touch. Nicely done!!
Oh good I wasn't sure how well he was going to show up but I couldn't resist lol.
Thank you very much!
I love the background on this. Great looking portrait.
Very lovely looking couple, your son and his bride. I'm so glad everything went smoothly.
I like Anagenessis, too. But to my eye, I like it best on the pre-iray and early iray characters. I think many of the characters being released now have amazing skin materials. At least those I've been buying, (like just about anything from DarwinsMishap(s)...!)
A very nice scene with the big cats. (Are they HW3D or Daz? ;) ) I love the shadow play on the main cat. And the water looks so real, I can almost feel the humidity.
The image with Juliana is lovely, but a little too dark for my monitor. At first glance, I thought she was pregnant! A tiny bit of ghost light on her right might make the legs a bit more obvious without ruining the look you've created. But then again, it's probably just my monitor.. These darn LCD monitors are so picky about the angle you view them from. (I really miss my old cathode-ray 21" monitor for working with graphics...)
Thank you vey much KM! I am also very grateful that everything went smoothly, and very happy, they are both great people. Its always nice when your kids grow up and you realize you like them as people lol.
The background is Fuselings Morphing Background and Shaders for Iray - a very versatile and interesting background prop, parts of it morph to make seats and shelves and other interesting things. And a LOT of shaders for it.
L'Adair on my monitor half her leg is highlighted on the right but I can see how she might look pregnant if it was darker. And I agree with you on the Anagennesis, I am noticing more and more that its not needed for the most part on the newest characters but is invaluable for the older skins.
The leopards are the Hivewire Big cat, I love that cat. I have the black leopard skin and the cougar as well. Beautiful creature.
I returned that Anagenessis shader, my results were red a lot without tweaking. In five years, I've returned very few products, and that was definitely one of them. To be honest, I don't like the metallic sheen that product produces either, and it's on a lot of the renders I see from everyone using that product.
She is absolutely stunning! So glad you had a beautiful sunny day and obviously, a great photographer!
Thank you! Actually, that's a picture from my phone lol. I was sitting two feet away so it was hard to not get a good one. The ones the real photographer took are better.
I use it more for older skins as I don't have great results with the newer skins, they don't need much help. I also use other products as well, I really like the ones from v3digitimes, they work quite well as well.
So I finally got to sit down for a bit and play with some new stuff. This is Raw's Raptor Dragon and PA_Philosopher's Lost World. The first one is the raw render and then I did some painting (hopefully, very subtle lol) some filters and called it done. I've got a couple different versions.
The original raw render (no pun intended)
Filter 1
Filter 2
Final Render and the one I think I like the best.
Very nice! The surroundings fit the dragon. I like filter 2 and final render best, love that the reds come out on one of the dragons. The original render is good too but the post work helps you see their faces more clearly.
Wow, you've been busy!
I like your "raw renders". Number 4 is my favourite too but it's slightly bright. if you place number 4 on top of number 2 and make it + - 50% transparent then together the dark and bright will balance each other out.
Your dragon - way back on page 33 it's really striking and your water dragon on page 35 looks great.
Apotasauras number 4 is stunning (page 37)
I also like your green fairy - the 2nd last one - on page 48
I had some catching up to do :-)
Thank you! I agree, the raw render was definitely hiding their faces. I really wanted them backlit by that beautiful skydome though. I love postwork, I've promised myself I am going to start doing more of it.
Thank you very much for taking the time to go through this rather long thread now lol. I will give your suggestion a try the next time I get a minute to actually do something lol. Today is errands day hopefully I will have time to play later.
have you done much conversion from v4 up to g3 as far as morphs are concerned?
Not yet. I've moved my entire library of g3f up to G38 so far but I just got the V4 Uvs for G8f so I will be working on bringing v4 all the way up through the generations because I love my v4 characters lol. I think i have all the utilities to do so now. Will keep everyone updated, I hope to get started soon (like in the next week or so.)
I see you got that cave environment, it fist the dragons, I think I like filder two best ;)
I did get the Mystical Island Cave Skydome, its really gorgeous. And I am always torn as to which version I like best when I do multiple filters. Filter two is a bit more of a sinister, we are really dangerous beasts kind of render lol. Which I like a lot too.
