Specifications?

I'm looking to get a new laptop. I know it should be easy but for me it's not. I've gone round and round with Google and couldn't find any information that seemed up to date or official. Nor that I really understand. I decided I'd try here. When I'm looking at the 'specs' section of a prospective laptop, what exactly do I need to be looking for in order to run Daz properly? I'm on a tight budget and I need to know how much longer I will have to save or if I can go ahead and purchase. Thank you in advance.

If you plan to render with Iray, you need a recent Nvidia GPU with a decent amount of VRAM (at least 8GB is recommended). Otherwise you'll have to render with the CPU and that's much much slower.

You'll also need a good amount of system RAM, at least 32GB is usually recommended.

I could not find that page of Sys Requirements but with a tight budget, may check the sShot below.

As for disk, 500GB minimum on C. Better prepare a SSD for setting up you Daz Library...

  • Do I need to be able to run the 32 & 64 bit versions?
  • ^4 bit would be the choice for main version, you might want the 32 bit version for its lip-synch plug-in though there are other tools around for that.
