Polaris props https://www.daz3d.com/polaris-props
Has these as requirements
https://www.daz3d.com/aircraft-hawk
https://www.daz3d.com/sci-fi-box-2
https://www.daz3d.com/polaris-corridor
I don't see a hanger mentioned as a prop in any of those.
What is the full error messages?
I don't have this set, yet I noticed the description for the props mentions a Polaris Hangar that doesn't seem to be on the store pages for either Absolute Studios or Petipet. Looks like 4 out of 7 scene subsets are hangar related. I infer those require this phantom Polaris Hangar set in order to work.
Curious.
Maybe it will be launched as a product in some days...
The Read Me specifically references a seperate Polaris Hanger product, so it would appear that the geniuses at DAZ marketing have torpedoed this release straight out of the gate. That said, I have to wonder - with all those required products listed as being needed to make this work, exactly what is actually IN this product itself? Just the decals?
The Polaris Hangar (wherever/whatever it is) is not necessarily needed. I personally am not getting any errors on loading the individual props which there is a nice collection of. The included Scene Sets do call for the Hangar (asking for missing Hangar texture maps by Petipet).
Yes, the product pages lists presets with the names of the other items included - so those are for loading the complete scene if you have the required items. Sine theya re there the associated items are "required", but it isn't a requirement to use the props in their own right - the images and list show what you actually get.
I grabbed them in spite of not having any 3 of the requirements, I expect the scenes to not work but the individual props should (not tried)
I intend eventually getting the other products
Installed the Polaris Props. In the Environments section of the product in Smart Content are scene presets to load the props into the scene Polaris Corridor and the soon to be released Polaris Hanger. All three are greyed-out although I own Polaris corridor. When I tried the corridor environment (greyed-out) DS hung and I had to end task for DS.
Individual props can be loaded and there is a preset under props to load all the props in their proper place in the corridor and the hanger.
See attached images.
Good call!
Since you are speaking of the props please note I attempted to buy them @ the $2.99 price advertised but they are chrging $11.89 instead!
Will one of you Admins. please look into this and see if the price can be corrected??
Many thanks.
you waited too long but I think if you take up today's new MH204 offer you can get them and the other previous day's items at that price as well

Greyed out? They look normal to me, though it';s true my eyes do sometomes colourise things (the drawback of growing up with black-and-white television)
The icons for the scene loads are grayscale because it's meant to imply they are loads which use other packages. Sort of like "these icons are here as a courtesy so you won't have to go digging for Polaris Corridor or Polaris Hangar." This isn't the first time Petipet (in particular) has taken this approach.
It interests me that this package, which was clearly meant to be a companion for both Polaris Corridor and Polaris Hangar, was released before one of those two came out. My sense of prophecy tells me that Polaris Hangar will show up fairly soon. One wonders if, once it does, they will adjust the requirements listing on the Polaris Props item page to include it.
What's television?
See attached for explanation.
Merci beaucoup for the explanation but since I have Polaris Corridor that icon should be In LIving Color.
Well, I agree, but they only made the one set of load icons.
EDIT: Huh. Is the DIM installer smart enough to check for the presence of other packages and "install this icon if you have it, install that icon if you don't?" I don't think it is.
video
since I only own the props so far
just Filament
According to today's Orange bar offer, it's still $2.99 with purchase of a new item over $1.00... BUT in testing it it appears that today's new Black Friday Release Steal item MK204 does NOT activate that price, despite obviously being over $1.00 at $2.99.
very nice
Agreed. Nice demo Wendy!
Wendy, that was really nice!
I barely remembered to check out last night. Glad I did as I own the other required products so far.
Mary
So, are the thumbnails on disc grey? I don't think DS can do this, grey-shade actrrual thumbnails becuse the required content is not present (even if it would be in error this time anyway).
They're grayscale on disc. I was going to paste one in but I can't at the moment. They're in [local tree]/Environments/Architecture/Daz Originals/Polaris Props/Scenes if you want a look.
But now that I look at it more closely, I realize, it's not the rule I had in mind. There are six scene-loading icons, and the three gray ones load JUST a scene (from a different content directory), and the three full-color ones load that same scene but also the appropriate props. My mistake.
(I think the seventh one just loads a bunch of boxes and no scene, but I haven't checked.)
thanks all, I do intend getting the rest eventually but am rapidly running out of disc space so just had a bit of a FOMO feeling brcause they are not marketed as DOs let alone DAZ+ like the others which I can pick up later
why does 'Absolute Studios' sell content made by other vendors?
Is it a collective? I mean, it's clearly not one person making those products as the style seems to vary between each product. Also one product is called 'XI something something' referring to Xivon?
I'm not sure but they may be DAZ buyouts that are not designated as DAZ Originals. See the path in columbine's post above:

The environments -- Polaris Corridor and the eventual Polaris Hangar -- are or will be Daz Originals; Polaris Corridor is a Daz+ item, and I would expect that the hangar will be as well.
Daz has done something vaguely similar before, with Dekogon Studios and their sets/environments/props, and with Disruptive Publishers and their Dain 8/Diego 8 stuff. The major difference being that items by Dekogon and Disruptive were presented primarily as Daz Originals -- although most of the Dekogon sets carried their name, but the Disruptive items did not -- and Absolute is being presented as the PA. The only way you can know about the involvement of Petipet and Mely3D for the Absolute items is to look at the readme.
We can't know for certain, of course, but it would be odd for Daz to buy out the item but leave it entirely under the creator's name in the store catalog. The Absolute items also don't appear under "Daz Originals" if you select that as the Artist in the store.
Sorry, I am commenting on while not having finished the thread. I just bought these today and own NONE of the "Required" bits... and still do not.
I was interested in the security module and perhaps the computer module. All work because they do not inclued any "calls" for additional items. If you look at the screenshots for props... it shows you what is included. (last 8 screenshots or so)... the onese with no scenery. The "scenes" that are large, are what needs the additional props.
I have done this before and then seen a lot of posts I missed
as you no doubt saw since I rendered nearly all of them in a geometry edited cube primitive room showing it is possible to create a scene from the props alone
those panels can be walls, floor etc too
Really looks like a nice kit.
