PD Howler Forum Category

Seeing as though Daz 3D is the marketplace to buy PD Howler, there really should be a PD Howler forum within the Daz 3d Forum categories.

Such an in-depth and wonderful art software that is under Constant development, it would be really great if we could discuss the Many topics about it that need to be discussed.

Can we? Please?

Actually what I think would be better, and provide more activity is a fourm under 3rd party software caled "Post-Render Software Discussions".

Then we would have a home for PDHowler, Affinity Suite, Adobe Suite, and all the other software used on DAZ rendered images.

I realize PD Howler does more than just photo editing but this category would be broad enough to include landscape generation topics in such a broad category. You could also discuss graphic novel generation and a host of other topics all related to technical aspects of using the software.

Since I brought up PD Howler, here's something that I really like:

It's pretty darned light on its feet - meaning that, if I have renders rendering or simulations simulating and I need to quickly edit a picture for the web or whatever - perhaps I want to add makeup to my character, whatever... I always turn to Project Dogwaffle.

    A - It's a really fun art room experience

B - It doesn't really take up much resources on my system when I run it

C - The crazy way of working just realy works for me!

Kudos to Dan Ritchie for constantly developing this thing (I mean... he's working on it right now, as we speak... I know he is!)  - thinking outside the box, adding very useful and helpful tools and filters... Da Ritchie just plain ROCKS!!!

Then there's Philip Staiger and Tiffanie Gray - constantly testing the new parts and reporting back - filling us with wonderful tutorials and inspirational ways to use it... I am a proud owner of Project Dogwaffle!

    ROCK ON!!!

I use Howler because I love all of the animation tools. If you have no interest in animating, "Artist" is that same progrqam with all of the animation bits removed, with the exceptiong of being able to create and use animated brushes and stuff like that.

I have both. I love both. Since Artist is the same, but without the animation tools, it's Howler that I always use and love.

Dan, having a little fun with some keyframe animation

In this much older one, Dan demonstrates painting a portrait using a custom palette. Making and using custom palette in any Dogwaffle is a blast and very easy to do. There are tutorials on doing that as well.

PD Howler is definitely a software that could use more hype to show how it is different than other image manipulation software.

Very true - and it began life with developer Dan Ritchie realizing that the last thing the world is going to need is another Photo Shop look alike. So there are Many differences - and I totally welcome them!

    A little more about Dan:

Dan Ritchie is the creator and brainchild of Project Dogwaffle and PD Pro Digital painter. He is the programming department. For a more in-depth description of why and how Dogwaffle came about, read his welcome message on TheBest3d.com.
Dan has been known amongst the 3D community for making plugins for 3D tools such as Lightwave 3D as well. Some of his plugins were later integrated into Howler.  He has worked in 3D animation on special effects at Foundation Imaging and other fine production studios on projects like Star Trek Voyager, Starship Troopers, and other sci-fi productions involving 3D animations and special fx.

Following Dan and his wonderful Dogwaffle Project, you learn many things like, how Great of an artist he is, how much of a Wonderful Sense of Humor he has, and most of all, how dedicated he is to this precious art studio software! :)

But when we're talking about Project Dogwaffle, it would be a crime to not mention the undying passion of Philip Staiger, the founder and owner of  TheBest3D.com, an authorized reseller and partner/co-developer of Project Dogwaffle, PD Artist, PD Particles andPD Pro Digital Painter and the all new PD Howler. He also resells or simply likes to use and promote other 2D and 3D art creation tools.

Philip has partnered with Dan Ritchie on many aspects of developing, promoting and marketing Project Dogwaffle.  He has worked for 30+ years in the 3D industry too, with graphics hardware designers (Megatek, Digital Equipment Corporation) for use in CAD, simulation and visualization, and software (Template Graphics Software, Eovia) for 3D modeling and animation.  Phil also has several years experience in the security software (ESET) and translation industry (SYSTRAN). He holds an Electrical Engineering degree from Swiss Federal Polytechnic Institute (EPFL), has programming and scripting experience, is fluent in several languages, but also has an insatiable admiration for art and the tools to create and communicate.

If you would like Phil to present Project Dogwaffle to you, your team, a user group or school or other organization, or to hold a training seminar, please don't hesitate to contact him. Philip is multi-lingual and loves to educate you about Project Dogwaffle in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and other languages.

Phil loves to teach and train you on Carrara, Dogwaffle and other tools which allow you to create special fx and Hollywood-style magic right on your home computer. He has run and organized live web-casts for solar eclipses. He also has taught seminars at Anaheim's Anime Expo, at OASIS, the San Diego Computer Fair, and numerous trade-shows and computer clubs.

Talk about Personality... Philip has that in Spades!!!

When I first started learning Howler, I was just as addicted to learning from Philip as I was sketching, painting and learning to rotoscope in Howler!

This is the first Dogwaffle tutorial I've ever seen and I was immediately hooked!

This is my first Playlist of The Daily Dose of Waffling and Howling that I made for myself to learn from in the order in which the videos were made.

Since then I've made several other Project Dogwaffle playlists on my YouTube channel, and the official Dogwaffle YouTube channel is pdhowler, which is Massive and Fun!

It would also be a crime to Not mention Tiffanie Gray, whose wonderful tutorials and videos are on her Immortal Moments YouTube Channel - and are Fantastic!

Both Tiffanie and Philip have really nice courses through Digital Art Live, here at Daz 3d and also do webinars and courses at Digital Art Live as well. So much Fun!!!
