...Rosalynn Carter, wife of former President Jimmy Carter passed on today at the age of 96.  She recently joined her 99 year old husband in hospices care.

The Carters were married for 77 years.

For many years Rosalynn has been known as a strong mental health advocate sadly succumbing to dementia herself.

She was also the first first lady to attend cabinet meetings which raised a few eyebrows in DC back then.

Blessings to the Carter family and friends.  It is easy to be cynical about public figures, but the Carters are fundamentally decent individuals, referring to people who despite personal success and fame choose to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity or similar public service organizations.   RIP.

The Carter's have been an example of grace, charity and love for the United States of America.

My heartfelt thanks to their family for sharing Rosalynn with us and to President Carter in his grief at the passing of his love of 96 years. They first met when she was 3 days old, his mother delivered her and brought 3-year-old Jimmy to meet her.

  • broken heart I adore the Carters. She will be missed.

I'm sure Jimmy will follow soon and if there is an afterlife they will be reunited.  Those two may not have done much in the White House but their humanitarianism and just being really good people, heart and sould, speaks volumes of their existance and what beautiful role models they were in every way.  Rest Well Rosalynn!  You deserve it my dear! heart
