Okay to Update Gen 9?

Just a quick question for my learned peers, please.  I'm staying away from the Daz Studio 4.22 update for now because...well, y'know.  Maybe later for that.  But on 11/17 updates for Genesis 9 Expressions and Starter Essentials showed up on my DIM.  Am I all right to update the Gen 9 items but NOT Daz Studio 4.22, or are they somehow interrelated?  I don't want to update the Gen 9 stuff and then suddenly find that Gen 9 isn't working as it should because I haven't moved up to Daz Studio 4.22.  Okay, that question was, perhaps, not as quick as I intended.  Thanks!

I updated the G9 essentials and haven't taken 4.22 yet and I don't see any breakage.

Unless you have a reason to upgrade, I'd hold off.

The above issues do not result from G9 itself though there're some tiny issue in the latest Installation Package...and some wrong Saving process from the vendors.

The above definitely seem to result from updating the G9 essentials as the eye textures are not (all) correct with the updated version
