The plug-in is not yet available, when it is it will be in a Public Build version of DS - everyone will be able to use it freely with added watermarks, but tose without the full license will be able to make only three non-wartermarked versions; as a license owner you will be bale to save without watermarks as often as you wish.
Face Transfer 1 was fairly limited, usefulness-wise, until Face Transfer Shapes came along. I wonder if FT2 will have its own built-in improvements or if PhilW will create an updated version of FTS to go along with it.
how do i use free trial for FT2?
I would like to see Face Transfer 2 used using skin shader/texture material sets for preexisting Genesis 9 products, example, Genesis 9 Essentials, Victoria 9, or Michael 9.
it mentions Face Transfer 2 uses AI but does not clarify how and when that AI is used? Locally or remotely? On the CPU, GPU, or both, if locally.
That's one of the things I wish I knew from the beginning. For me, only FT1 appears.
It will be released sometime next month, as part of a new Public Build version of Daz Studio.
I watched the YouTubes promoting Face Transfer 2 and was not impressed with the real life examples. I'm interested in getting it but the results are not realistic enough for me. Are there any tricks for getting better results or were the videos pretty much as far as you can go? There are AI applications that are stunning in what they can do but I can't justify the cost. Maybe this is a you-get-what-you-pay-for thing. I want quality for cheap and I'm out of luck? If Daz can do better, maybe update their how-to videos?
If I'm understanding this correctly everyone gets the free trial once it's released. What you and I bought was a serial number to plug into FT2 so that we don't get watermarked faces.
What Ai applications can do a stunning job at what face transfer 2 is trying to do on the cheap?... i really am hoping there is such a application.
cheers.
It is possible the author used AI to improve his algo, rather than it being bundled into the plug-in, which I suspect would not be easy. AI is after all a somewhat hyped subject at the moment, and it is hard to say exactly what is AI and what is not.
I did pick up FT2, but mostly because of the deal that came with it. DAZ's deals involving free products up to X dollars, often only include a bunch of largely undiscounted DOs. With this deal you got $30 dollars of heavily discounted products, particularly if you had 3 punches. With $30 dollars of undiscounted products you might get a couple of cheap pose sets, but with FT2 I got about 10 free DOs, some of which had a high base price. I also got a gift card for 27% off, so I am happy regardless of how useful FT2 turns out to be.
I added FT2 to my cart and then started adding the $30 worth of DO items and adding, and adding... At a point I just kept adding stuff to see when it would FINALLY start charging me. At the point my cart price went up four cents I stopped and evaluated what I had in my cart. All in all a pretty amazing deal. I originally had figured it would be one, maybe two items, but I ended up with eight additional items "for free". Nice.
Frankly, I was amazed. I was going to buy FT2 anyway, but with the punches, the last "giving thanks" coupon discount and an extra 10% for the cart for buying one of the other new items, the FT2 itself was $16 and I got 10 freebie items, all G9 stuff.
Well I did not receive any of the $30.00 stuff, I don't even have Face Transfer 2 installed.....what is going on? I put a ticket in but at the time of purchase and have not heard a word.
You should have selected the $30 stuff at the time you made the purchase, there was no 'receiving' afterwards
Edit: At the moment, FT2 Only comes with the beta version of Daz Studio, there is no installing needed.
The free trial version is part of the newest beta versions of Daz Studio, the full version is just a serial number that removes the restrictions in the free version.
For now it only works in the Beta.
There will come a new general release including it - "soon".
https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-beta - which seems to have changed its name from Public Build (Beta) to plain Beta.
Does it do any better at making the face look good from the sides? Or does it have all the same issues as before but with Genesis 9 this time?
The other thread has a lot of conversation and examples:
