The Power of aniMate 2 in Daz Studio - Webinar this Sunday
It has always been So Common to hear that we simply shouldn't even try animating in Daz Studio. So common that throughout most of my 3D animating journey - I believed it.
Still, in my first series of purchases at Daz 3d, when I bought Carrara, I bought aniMate 2, the aniBlock Importer for Carrara, and started collecting aniBlocks any time I could.
I did my own keyframe animation too.
Getting acquainted with Daz Studio, I felt pretty embarrassed that I let such rumors and untruths get to my head.
Still, during that time, when I did believe them, I still used Daz Studio on occasion to go into aniMate 2 and work with aniBlocks and save them as new aniBlocks that I could import into Carrara.
Discovering how to aniMate in Daz Studio, as I've laid out in my Dynamic Character Animation course has truly changed how I view animating in Studio. Not only is it really easy, but it's really, Really Fun!!!
Let me show you how I do all of this in Daz Studio. In a Live Webinar experience, I'll be right there with Studio open - doing my thing. If you need clarification or have a question that I'm not covering, Ask!!!
If there's one thing that you should have all picked up on about me by now is that I Love to Answer Questions about what I do!

aniMating in Daz Studio is a Blast!!!
Even if you prefer to work with DUF animated pose files, aniMate 2 gives us the power to take that all to new heights and, when we're done, send it back to the library as a new DUF animated Pose of our own custom creation.
aniMate 2 has a lot of wonderful tools that help us to achieve truly wonderful animations. Ever wish your character could walk up to a shelf, reach onto it and grab a prop off of it? aniMate 2 has the Perfect Tools for that! But what's better, it's Really easy to do!
With Daz 3d constantly knocking on Future's door, which we all love to see, our legacy content tends to feel obsolete as it doesn't work with the shiny new figures properly.
When it comes to aniBlocks and animated pose files, that isn't the case thanks to Riversoft Art's Bone Minion! Now we can translate all of our legacy motions to any Genesis figure of our choosing, and we can even take something made for Genesis 9 or any other Genesis generation and translate it to any figure between M4/V4 and their families and the latest Daz figures we have. This all makes for a Very Powerful solution, since a lot of legacy figures still work really well in our scenes!
Through Mixamo we can freely download (requires a free account) FBX animations from a Vast collection, and many of them have options that can change the behavior of the motions.
To make the transition into Daz Studio fluid and highly reusable as aniBlocks or animated DUF pose files, 3D Universe's Body2Hip tool takes all of Mixamo's body translations and keys them into the hip so that we get the results we expect in Daz Studio!
With Bone Minions on our side, we only really need to do this once for each animation and translate the data to Any figure in our library!!!
I'll be covering all of this and a lot more on these next two Sundays.
Come on in and discover a Whole New World of Fun - aniMating!!!
Part 1 Starts This Sunday, December 3rd!
Who Says You Cannot Animate in Daz Studio?!!!
Just to help clear up that false myth, I had just suffered a Complete Data Wipe at the end of July 2023. I lost all of my rendered animations, saved scenes, previous videos, custom textures, characters... Everything! Years and years of it.
Instead of giving up or throwing a fit, I decided to get busy and make a fresh start, and so it was that Rosie 8 was born!
It didn't come easy. I considered rebuilding my beloved Rosie 7, whom I had grown rather attached to. But with the help of GenX2, she was made up of generations 4, 5, 6 and 8 as well as Genesis 3, which was her base figure.
I knew I could go that route again. Building her was a Lot of fun. But instead, I turned my attention to Genesis 8 and 9. With my meager computer, Genesis 8 won. She's just more stable for my system.
I collected new Daz Studio tools, tested new philosophies, experimented with new techniques.
I'm saying this because, if I could get this together in that short of time, I'm quite convinced that we, the people who love working in Daz Studio can certainly animate in it. Not only that, it's Really Freaking Fun!!!
Please, say "Hello" to the sweet little super hero, Rosie 8 2023!
Nice group! We're going to have a Lot of Fun! :)
Oh... who's in charge of bringing donuts?
