Emotion sliders & Poses not working with Metamixer face

Okay, I've created my first metamixer faced character. I tried several facial poses and they won't take. I noticed the emotion sliders are changed as well. For instance I can't find the "Open Mouth" option. The faces used were Gen 8s. Any ideas what's going on?

Okay, I posted this two days ago and only had one view and no help. Is there anyone out there?
Ah... though I ever bought it, I just used it once for giving a tutorial of product review. then I uninstalled it. To me, it was almost useless, IMHO... let alone a few bugs there.
See if other guys can chim in with help ~~
Well, I hope Richard H. Will. He's usually pretty knowledgable about these things. Much like you, Crosswind.
I guess I came up with a stumper.
I'm a bit lost sir ~ If you just wanna dial expressions on your figure, you don't need MetaMixer. MetaMixer is used for mixing characters' head morphs (as well as partial head morphs).
For instance, you want to make your figure to open his/her mouth, just filter "Mouth Open" in Parameters pan and dial it, try to filter Eyes Closed, Eye Blink, Mouth Smile...Angry sth. like these ...
Hi Crosswind. Actually, I already used Metamixer to create the head morph. The problem is posing the expression. The either don't work or barely work. And there is no 'Mouth Open" option in the mouth folder. There is, though, a "Close Mouth" option. But the mouth is already closed. And when I have the figure stick out their tongue, the tongue slices through the lower lip. Talk about being sharp tongued.
Below is an image showing the face in Fear Shock.
Understood. So this figure is Genesis 8.1 Female, correct ?
If so, these G8.0 expression dials won't work on G8.1. There's an "unofficial pre-requisite" you have to set up first...
G8.1 use an expression system of FACS, so as default, all G8.0 expressions dials are blocked by "dummy properties". So if you dial G8.0 expression, nothing's gonna happen. You have to "remove those blockers"...
No, it's a G8F figure.
Interesting about the blockers. For future reference, how do you remove the blockers?
I just had a thought. In case I made a mistake with the main body of the figure, it there a way to determine it's a G8 or G8.1?
G8F .... if so, that didn't make sense indeed~~ Pls save the current scene, re-open it and try again.
As for "dummy blockers", just go to "your Daz Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female 8_1\Morphs\Daz 3D" folder, MOVE sub-folders - "Base Pose Head" and "Expressions" to somewhere else as a backup (or just ZIP them as a file in that folder, and delete them), then reload G8.1 figure. G8.0 expression dials will work.
Yes, pls select the figure, go to Edit - Figure - Scene Identification...., check Node Name and Scene ID, as below.
And I believe your character is G8.1F, because of the highlighted Path as below, it is G8.1F exclusive...
Okay, you helped me figured out the problem. I started doubting myself and checked the control for my figure and compared them for a G8.1. It's the same. I must have used the wrong figure when I started it. Oops. My bad.
Thanks for the help, Crosswind, and for the info on the dummy blockers. (I wonder it those blockes will have me avoid the dummies in my life.)
Yep, I checked and that's it. Thanks for the info.
I hate to ask this, but how do you bookmark a page? I want to have an easier access to this page.
Haha ~ no problem. That happens. Pls go on with custimizing your figure and happy rendering !
One more thing, is there an "Mouth Open" option for a G8.1?
Nope... it is "Jaw Open" on G8.1 (as well as G9). But you still can use "Mouth Open" dial from G8.0, after you remove the "dummy blockers".
Go to the top of the page and click on the star symbol.
That turns on reply notifications - to bookmark, ad a link that you can click on to get back to the page in future, you are looking for similar star in the browser address bar or thereabouts
Oh, so the word "Bookmark" that pops up is a misnomer?
I hadn't noticed that, but apparently. It certainly doesn't bookmark (add to favourits) the thread.
So that's where they hid it. Thanks for the info. I would never had thought of looking there.
You know, a lot of times I don't understand programmers. All this time we had "Mouth Open", and when they came up with 8.1 and 9 they decided to move the proceedure and hide it in another folder. Only to make it more confusing for thier customers and frustration. "Hey, gang, if it's not broken, why fix it?"
Richard, I was able to bookmark a few pages last month without doing what you suggested. I don't remember exactly how but I did click on something to bookmark those pages. I can find them under My Bookmarks in the menu when you click onto the little gear in the upper right screen. I bet the Daz programmers decided to "fix it" and either took the option out completely or hid it somewhere else. My under the "Jaw" tab.
You know I've ever analyzed such a thing, like "Mouth Open"... why did they change it to "Jaw Open". OK, then I thought it was reasonable as if one wanna open his/her mouth, opening lower jaw should be the 1st step, wahaha ~~~
Then I just let go...
Richard is instructing you how to create a generic internet browser bookmark. Clicking the star to highlight it, as MelanieL described, creates a Daz Forum bookmark, accessible from the "My Bookmarks" selection on the gear, as you discovered.
Yeah, it does make sense. Except for the fact they had it the other way for years. I'll have to play with it now to see what I can do with it.
Okay, gang, I found where you bookmark a page. You find it under the "My Discussions" page. The star is to the far right for each discussion.
"A star is born."
