Theme Lost

I just updated my Daz Studio to v4.21; now the complete window is white.

Originally, I had a custom theme activated. But by navigating to Style > Select Style I can't even activate the default dark-mode color scheme: If I select "Default" or my custom style from the list, neither "Preview" nor "Accept" deliver any results at all. However, the preview image of the theme is displayed correctly inside the window.

Did anyone else have a similar problem? How did you resolve it?

Sounds as if Daz Studio was still running when you updated it.

It can run for several minutes after you close it.

Try to close Daz Studio (and make sure it is closed), then uninstall and reinstall.

I think that would mess up my manually created entries into Daz's asset database for external assets, right?

Uninstalling and reinstalling Daz Studio should not touch the database.

  • Here is how I fixed my issue (by accident):

I tried uninstalling Daz Studio but figured there is no classic button on Windows to delete it. So I went into Daz Central to delete it, but according to Daz Central, Daz Studio wasn't installed. So I installed it using Daz Central.

Now I can open Daz Studio the way I used to, without uninstalling anything, and it works out of the box. Cursed.
