Help with unusual rigging question?
Idk... Some of you may remember this:

It was a puzzle gift from years ago. After a series of puzzles and codes, you are rewarded with a set of marionette strings that "Fit to" V4 that are completely operational.
Now - I'm guessing I'd need to somehow monkey with the joint editor to get it rigged to other characters - but that is only a guess. because tis is not an "usual" rigged item, like clothing or shoes, I'm not even sure where to look for answers.Would this be possible in Daz Studio or would I need to get into something like Blender to do it?
Anyone know of a tutorial that might get me on the right path, perhaps?
Also... If anyone else would like to take their own journey in code breaking and rewards... You will need this link as well:

Doubt blender would be needed.
If you have the product, then you can see the figure's bones, and you can see the weight painting of the bones. That should inform you how it was set up and allow you to reverse engineer it perhaps.
Yeah, I've never used Daz Studio for this stuff, so I don't really know. LOL. I did a few freebies back in the day, but I used Poser to create a few morphs and that was a LONG time ago. I'm just not sure how to go about things in Daz Studio. I don't know what I'm looking at in there! LOL Would I use the Joint Editor then? Or Do I adjust and use the Update Geometry thing? Or do I need to do both? Or something else entriely? Sorry... I have no idea! I don't want to lose the posing morphs that are already included...
And Thanks for your help!
Though I don't have these items, my gut feeling is that you just need to go for rigging with Joint Editor, Geometry Editor and Node Weight Brush. Not sure but maybe a better way is to rig it with General Weight...Blender, as well as Updating Geometry won't be needed either if you don't fix any morph ~~
As for rigging, there're a couple of tutorials on Sickleyield's youtube channel... I think you've probably have watched ~~
Awesome! Thanks, crosswind! Wish me luck!
(p.s. oh btw - those items are free in the Daz Store. Once you download the decoder and the ticket, you are given a "secret folder" with two additional freebies that require the original items to "decode" the passwords on the secret gifts. It's fun, if you want to give it a go!
I won't reveal the secrets here. )
Hoho ~ I must be blind. I even didn't notice they're Free. They're in my cart now, haha ~~
LOL! Enjoy the adventure!
