New Scene Dialogue Box

I have no use for this. Is there any way to get rid of it and just have the app create a blank new scene without all the extras? Like it used to.

    Yah, that was my opinion as well, IMO a very annoying change that serves no useful purpose for us users at all.

    Luckily you can indeed change this but... credit where credit's due (!) => I didn't come up with this but Crosswind did. I did expand on it just a little bit though.

    • Make sure you got your empty scene: the one which you're happy with and which should load whenever you use control + n.
    • Save this using File => Save As... => Scene. Make sure to give this a name which you can easily remember.
    • Now open the Content Library pane, expand "Daz Studio formats" and check your library, find the file we just created in the 'Scenes' folder.
    • Then create a new folder and name it "Templates"; then move your empty scene file into this folder. This is an optional step (!) but serves 2 purposes: 1) By moving the file around you'll reset the so called meta data which ensures that this won't show up in the smart contents pane. 2) By using a dedicated "templates" folder it'll be much easier to remember that this is all about after a few months when you might have forgotten about this already.
    • Right click on the empty scene file, then use: "Create Custom Action". It doesn't matter what menu or so you pick when asked.
    • Press F3 (customize), expand the top section ("Custom"): there is your custom action. Right click: "Change keyboard shortcut", assign it with control + n (or whatever else you fancy of course).
    • Done!

    Now, whenever you press control + N (or your own shortcut) it will immediately load your empty scene file, no more annoying in between hiccup windows.

    Just like you I also seriously disliked this change, IMO it's just an annoying change for the sake of change (if not I would have expected something in the settings). But you also gotta admit... Daz Studio is like elastic, you can customize just about everything! And that deserves some respect too.

    Hope this helps!

    @ShelLuser  yes

    I hope one day I know how to clear the scene + reminding users of saving current unsaved scene by Daz Script ~~ then there'll be no need to using a Template of empty scene. smiley
