I felt it seems broken (at least when I use general weight)  in current  ds 4.8, but could not confrim, then today I test with simple case.

Yes it actually had broken, un-useful ,not work correctly at-all.  almost no need to use this option.

It just copy weight and paste   on same node, same weight map opositte (mirroer side)  now.

before it worked like that.

1  I color weight map for rightBone (rBone),  then weight editing >weight map symmetly  I set option, X axis Right to Left , selected bone (or weight map)

2   it keep current weight map for rightBone, but copy the weight then mirroer and paste it for left(lBone).

3 So that I can just concentrate to color weight about one side . then just use weight map symmetly.

now It just break my weight map about one side, perfectly.  I really worry,,  If DAZ seems too busy to correct these things , for DAZ connect etc.

. or is it reported already?  please correct these important bugs  first , untill DAZ push DAZ connect or new file system etc,,.  Can not expect it?

(do not worry,, I may send report,, but I have already send 3 bug report, (one is content bug , it miss formula for ERC,, then my gen3female can not close eyes

clean,, without I remove it manually) ,  But DAZ support can not reply them still..   ) or  in current 4.9 ,symmetly work well? (though it is broken about other things,, )

I do not hesitate to show clear current bugs which I see in  daz stuido  for user who see this forum. because DAZ never tell us clear,

what  problem  there is in current version.  there is no good bug track system for user. before we have mantis ,,,

I get reply this problem from support today,, then understand why it not worked.

    From the dev team:

"Make sure the center point of the left and right bones doesn't sit exactly at 0 on X. I changed the X Position of the left bone Center Point to 2, right bone set to -2

Make sure to run the Mirror Joints action to make sure the left and right bones are exact mirrors of each other

Memorize the rigging after you are done positioning the bones (Joint Editor Tool, right-click in viewport and go to Memorize > Memorize Figure RIgging)

Paint weight on one of the bones then do Weight Map Symmetry and it will cause it to mirror that weight to the bone that is a mirror of it. No need to copy weight

As my pic,, I set symmetrly nodes center point on Center Axis (in this case X axis) then extend r ight and left node to both side.

then support advice me,, slightly move centerpoint  outwards, (eg rBone center points (X = -0.1),  lBone center points (X = 0.1),

not set on X axis,, then symmetrly work correctly..

I check, symmetly work, then reset center point again,, then get same effect.(which I reported,, )

to set both symmetly nodes  center point not on center, seems answer of this case.
