Fixing shoe conformity issues.

I've tried the G8 to G9 clothing conversion script and for the most part, it's working although there remain conformity issues. The biggest issue I've had is with shoe conversions. I've had no luck. There was a time a long time ago that I was able to use the G3 to G8 conversion on shoes and it worked okay. Then, for some reason, around the time G8.1 became available, the shoe conversions always failed. Donno. I've given up trying to figure out and fix it. I've tried relying on just using the autofit option which is problematic but works better than trying to use software to convert the shoes. When using heels, like in the image, there are deformities at the toes and the heels. Using Riversoft Art's shoe pose script once the shoes have been applied can help; apply the shoe, use the script to pose the foot as best as possible, delete the shoe, reapply it with the foot posed and it comes out better. As can be seen in the image, there are issues but for the most part, it looks okay. It's the heel that remains the biggest problem. Using ManFriday's Mesh Grabber utility (one of my best and favorite purchases ever) can help me move the heel to a more acceptable shape.

This is a meticulous and painstaking process but if I can do this on G8 footwear I want to use with G9, what I'd like to do is save the reshaped shoes to use with G9 characters going forward. This is delving into territory I'm not comfortable with, not being a content creator. What would be the ideal process to make these fixes and then save it as a G9 compatible clothing item and then apply it as needed without having to go through a bunch of flips and twists every time I want to use it?

  • Trying to avoid if possible exporting to external software. The commercial modeling software is very pricey and Blender is a massive cluster and hard to use for a causal dilatant. I'm chugging along inside Studio with MeshGrabber. Experimenting and trying different things. It works on some things but not on others. My interest is once I get to a point where it's acceptable, how I save it as a clothing asset to G9. That's my question.

The lack of compatibility of heels between generations has been brought up many times with just as many attempts at trying to make it work. I have yet to find a near oerfect solution, so I just stick to heels and the figure they are developed for

You will save them as a file - save as - support asset - figure/prop assets
