Anyone bought Typi3D? Will it work if not English letters?

Since it's said that a few fonts are not compatible with the libraries, I'm not so sure how it works. If anyone bought it please let us know. Thank you very much!

There is a promo picture with non-english letters.

If you have something specific in mind, you could ask here https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/667336/released-typi3d-plugin-fonts-to-3d-mesh-windows-version#latest

Thank you very much Felis! Alas he didn't declare it in promo page. This is what I long for. I think it's weird we have to wait till now.

I bought it within minutes of it being released and it is a mixed bag.  LOVE the tool and the ability - but it does not work on every font.  Not sure what the criteria are, but I wanted to use it on dingbat (pictures/logos etc) fonts, but most of them don't even show up in the tool menu - which is preferable to crashing, or some other catastrophic reaction.  Of the ones that do show up (Wingdings, Webdings, etc) no characters will render - only get a placeholder square frame.  This is not Typi3D's fault.

The correct answer is "SOME" foreign fonts will work and others will not. I tried a few that worked fine.  I was unable to identify a way to know ahead of time what will work and what won't.  For me, even though it didn't work on the specific fonts I wanted it very desperately to, it was still a worthwhile purchase for me.  Your mileage may vary. (You can try it and return it if it doesn't work on the specific fonts you need it to.)

Thanks very much Gogger. This is what I guess the best we can have right now. I'm so bored of working back and forth between Blender and DAZ for just some text. I tried to understand but couldn't find the reasons why DAZ team doesn't provide us (or sell us) this thing.

...if Kanji and Korean and Cyrillic work, one could create 3D lettering for signs & such that actually make sense (provided of course you understand the actual language).

Hexagon 3D will turn any font into a 3d model.   Hexagon 2.5 | Daz 3D

Yes. Blender too. But it's very convenient to have something in DAZ that you can place a text node and see what you want to type immediately without bothering conversion. I recommend Typi3D to anyone who have to create 3D mesh text often. It works. It's fast. And it gives you so many choices to arrange the text in place such as letters spacing, lines spacing, font height, extrude, and bevel. You may align left center and right easily, too. Best is you can convert into 3D mesh on the fly. All of this worth, trust me.

For you who may have issues with installed foreign fonts in system font directory, try clicking Change Fonts button to choose your own directory. For me it works like a charm.

... and Carrara but a large number of DAZ studio users will not venture out of DAZ studio

Alvin like a few other PAs who started with DAZ products using Carrara are creating plugins that do what Carrara does natively for DAZ Studio

and it seems to be a commercial success!

    Good on Him yes

I like how convenient is to combine different elements in Daz Studio (objects, shaders, dForce etc)

so having possiblilty to easily add font characters as a 3D objects directly in Daz Studio is a big plus for me.
